Publication number: 20250227788Abstract: When an EMLSR-active non-AP MLD receives, over a first one of its EMLSR links, a first initial control frame from the EMLSR capable AP MLD that does not explicitly trigger it, the non-AP MLD remains in the EMLSR listening operation mode, hence requiring an additional initial control frame to be sent to initiate a frame exchange with the AP MLD. Embodiments of the invention save the cost of this additional frame by requiring the non-AP MLD to switch, responsive to the receiving of the first frame, its EMLSR co-affiliated STA corresponding to the first link from the listening operation state to a disabled frame exchange state, and the other EMLSR co-affiliated STA corresponding to another link of its EMLSR links from the listening operation state to an enabled frame exchange state. The other EMLSR co-affiliated STA is ready to directly receive frames from the AP MLD.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 3, 2023Publication date: July 10, 2025Inventors: Julien SEVIN, Mickaël LORGEOUX

Publication number: 20250016860Abstract: In wireless networks implementing multilink transmissions, a non-AP MLD declares EMLMR capabilities in a ML Association Request, with a set of eligible EMLMR links. Eligible EMLMR links form part or all of the candidate links for set up with an AP MLD. The latter replies with a ML Association Response setting up candidate links and signalling which eligible EMLMR links are accepted. The signalling may involve a Status Code per each link. In operation, the non-AP MLD sends one or more EML OM Notification frames requesting an activation of an EMLMR mode. Such a frame includes an EML Link bitmap specifying the EMLMR links set to be used. Two EMLMR modes with two separate and disjoint EMLMR links sets can then be activated simultaneously.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 13, 2022Publication date: January 9, 2025Inventors: Mickaël LORGEOUX, Julien SEVIN

Publication number: 20240381466Abstract: In wireless networks implementing multilink transmissions, an AP MLD spontaneously sends an EML OM Notification frame defining a proposal or suggestion to activate or deactivate or modify an EML OM, optionally with a proposed set of EML Links. Taking advantage of this opportunity, the addressee non-AP MLD initiates an EML OM activation or deactivation as suggested. Upon receiving a request for EML OM activation or deactivation, the AP MLD may refuse the request and respond with another proposed set of links. The signalling in the requesting frames may be simplified by using a single one-bit field to implicitly activate or deactivate the single EML OM, either EMLSR or EMLMR mode, declared as supported during the association of the non-AP MLD.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2022Publication date: November 14, 2024Inventors: Julien SEVIN, Mickael LORGEOUX

Publication number: 20240292234Abstract: ML beacon frames sent by AP MLD during ML Discovery report the profiles of all the affiliated APs. This duplication over multiple channels substantially reduces network bandwidth available for data transmission. A management AP amongst the affiliated APs is selected for processing the management and control frames. The ML beacon frames from the management AP convey the profiles of all the affiliated APs, while the other affiliated APs send lighter ML beacon frames that for instance indicate where to find the full ML beacon frames. The ML beacon frames hence signal, using a Link ID, which one of the affiliated APs is the management AP. Upon receiving a light ML beacon frame, the non-AP MLD can configure one of its affiliated non-AP station to communicate with the management AP, and then can switch the association procedure over this management link.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 16, 2022Publication date: August 29, 2024Inventors: Julien SEVIN, Mickael LORGEOUX, Romain GUIGNARD, Stéphane BARON

Publication number: 20240284305Abstract: To signal critical updates to BSS Parameters of reported affiliated APs, a reporting AP of the same AP MLD includes a MLD BSS Parameters Change Count in the ML element of its ML beacon frames. The Count is incremented at each new BSS parameter critical update announced or reported by the reported affiliated APs over time. A non-AP station of a non-AP MLD in ML Power Save mode receives such beacon frame and then directly accesses this information without parsing the complex Reduced Neighbor Report information element. The RNR IE can thus be omitted to save bandwidth. Next, the non-AP station requests the reporting AP for the missing updated BSS parameters of the reported APs, without waking up the reported non-AP stations of the non-AP MLD. The BSS parameters for these reported non-AP stations can then be updated with low complexity.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 16, 2022Publication date: August 22, 2024Inventors: Stéphane BARON, Romain GUIGNARD, Julien SEVIN, Mickael LORGEOUX

Publication number: 20240214920Abstract: In wireless networks implementing multilink transmissions, a non-AP Multi-Link Device, MLD, discovers an AP MLD and registers to it. To reduce risks of registration refusal from the AP MLD, the invention proposes mechanisms to enhance link advertising in exchanged management frames. In embodiments, the beacon frames or probe response frames during ML discovery categorize the Per-STA profiles of the reported affiliated APs. Such categorization is a recommendation from the AP MLD to promote or favor some links or affiliated APs compared to others. Lists of profiles per category can be provided or each profile can be tagged with a dedicated categorizing score. In other embodiments, the non-AP MLD indicates one or more backup links as alternatives to one or more of the setup links requested for ML setup. This allows the AP MLD to switch on a backup link in case a setup link is to be refused.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2022Publication date: June 27, 2024Inventors: Julien SEVIN, Stéphane BARON, Romain GUIGNARD, Mickael LORGEOUX

Publication number: 20240114551Abstract: A triggering frame in a wireless network grants a medium to an AP for a TXOP. The frame defines RUs and allocates Uplink RUs to UL transmissions for an UL duration and Direct Link RUs to P2P transmissions. All the P2P exchanges are nested within the UL duration, hence avoiding an acknowledgment frame in the DiL RUs to interfere with a block-ack frame of the AP after the UL transmissions. This is relevant for DiL RUs adjacent, in frequency, to the other defined RUs. The block-ack frame is duplicated over the DiL RUs. The RU immediately adjacent to the DiL RUs is declared, in the triggering frame, as being unused: no non-AP station is allowed to use it during the UL duration, or even the TXOP. Such empty RU may be declared only in case the DiL transmission requires a response frame from the destination P2P station.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 30, 2021Publication date: April 4, 2024Inventors: Mickael LORGEOUX, Stéphane BARON, François THOUMY, Brice LE HOUEROU

Publication number: 20240022947Abstract: A network adopts Low Latency Reliable Service measures to ensure LLRS traffic has priority over not-LLRS traffic. Active measures are applied by stations exchanging LLRS traffic in the network. Passive measures are applied by stations not participating in the LLRS traffic exchange, to reduce use of the medium for exchange of not-LLRS traffic. The LLRS traffic is thus prioritized. The AP declares the LLRS requirements for the non-AP stations to join the BSS, such as the LL measures. A non-AP station wishing to join the BSS declares its LL capabilities to implement LL measures, during an association procedure. The AP decides whether to authorize or refuse the association based on the declared capabilities, thereby building a BSS with non-AP stations that are capable of applying passive LL measures when LLRS traffic is to be exchanged between stations. Achievement of low latency, PDR and jitter requirements is consequently eased.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 14, 2021Publication date: January 18, 2024Inventors: Julien SEVIN, Pascal VIGER, Patrice NEZOU, Mickaël LORGEOUX

Publication number: 20240015055Abstract: The present invention concerns a transmission system where DiL and MU UL scheme are triggered by the AP simultaneously. According to a first aspect of the invention, the data frame sent in DiL mode by a station in response to an AP triggering frame are emitted according to the synchronization scheme adopted in MU scheme. This means that pre-correction parameters are computed based on the triggering frame from the AP for the transmission of the data frame. According to a second aspect of the invention, the return frame from the destination station of a DiL transmission to the source station, typically an acknowledge frame, when present, is transmitted using pre-correction parameters computed by the destination of the DiL transmission. These pre-correction parameters may be computed based on the received data frame from the source station of the DiL transmission or, when available, based on a previous frame received from the AP.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2021Publication date: January 11, 2024Inventors: François THOUMY, Stéphane BARON, Mickaël LORGEOUX, Brice LE HOUEROU
