Patent number: 11568967Abstract: A truth maintenance method and system. The method includes receiving by a computer processor, health event data associated with heath care records for patients. The computer processor associates portions of the health event data with associated patients and related records in a truth maintenance system database. The computer processor derives first health related assumption data and retrieves previous health related assumption data derived from and associated with previous portions of previous health event data. The computer processor executes non monotonic logic with respect to the first health related assumption data and the previous health related assumption data. In response, the computer processor generates and stores updated first updated health related assumption data associated with the first health related assumption data and the previous health related assumption data.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2019Date of Patent: January 31, 2023Assignee: KYNDRYL, INC.Inventors: Prabhakar Attaluri, Mickey Iqbal, Calvin D. Patent number: 11526788Abstract: An approach for determining a veracity of a reported event is provided. In an embodiment, a set of predictor variables is retrieved from a selected use case. Each of these predictor values is a condition that indicates the veracity of the reported event. In addition, a set of hidden predictor variables is generated from a set of unstructured documents related to the reported event using a hidden Markov model that is based on the predictor variables using a cognitive system. These hidden predictor variables are combined with the set of predictor variables to generate a set of updated predictor variables. These updated predictor variables are used by the cognitive system to return a determination of the veracity of the reported event.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2018Date of Patent: December 13, 2022Assignee: KYNDRYL, INC.Inventors: Clea Zolotow, Calvin D. Lawrence, Tedrick N. Northway, John Delaney, Mickey Iqbal

Patent number: 10740682Abstract: A truth maintenance method and system. The method includes receiving by a computer processor from RFID tags embedded in sensors, event data associated with events detected by said sensors. The computer processor associates portions of the event data with associated RFID tags and derives assumption data associated with each portion of the portions. The computer processor retrieves previous assumption data derived from and associated with previous portions of previous event data retrieved from the RFID tags and executes non monotonic logic with respect to the assumption data and the previous assumption data. In response, the computer processor generates and stores updated assumption data associated with the assumption data and the previous assumption data.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2016Date of Patent: August 11, 2020Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Prabhakar Attaluri, Mickey Iqbal, Calvin D. Patent number: 10599696Abstract: A method and system for forming a search query. Key-word search terms that include a homonym are received. One icon is selected to represent an intended meaning of the homonym. A first row of unique icons pertaining to an entity associated with a search query is displayed. Notification is received that a single unique object represented by a single icon of the unique icons in the first row is modified by a specific attribute and in response, a second row of the single icon modified by the specific attribute is displayed. Acceptance of the displayed single icon modified by the specific attribute is received for inclusion in the search query. The one icon and the single icon are displayed. In response to a user indicating that the displayed icons correctly represent a key-word search as intended by the user, the search based on meanings of the displayed icons is initiated.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2017Date of Patent: March 24, 2020Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventor: Mickey Iqbal

Patent number: 9910702Abstract: A method and associated system for continuously optimizing data archive management scheduling. A flow network is modeled, which creates vertexes organized in multiple levels and creating multiple edges sequentially connecting the vertexes of the multiple levels. The multiple levels consist of N+1 levels denoted as LEVEL0, LEVEL1, . . . , LEVELN, wherein N is at least 2, wherein LEVEL0 includes a source vertex, wherein LEVEL1 includes at least one task vertex associated with at least one archive management task, wherein EDGEK is directed from the vertex of LEVELK?1 to the vertex of LEVELK for K=1, . . . , N, wherein EDGE1 indicates that a first task associated with a first task vertex of LEVEL1 is scheduled by a job scheduler, and wherein EDGE1 has a first weight equal to a time unit to perform the first task.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2015Date of Patent: March 6, 2018Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Brian Cho, Kavita Chavda, Mickey Iqbal, Seshashayee S. Publication number: 20170352113Abstract: An approach to generating a disruption indicator for an employee. The approach parses communication feeds into a collection of verbs and subjects. The approach then uses a lookup to determine if the verbs match actions associated with stressful situations. Further, the approach determines the location of the employee based on GPS coordinates to aid in measuring a stressful situation. The approach then stores the data for further analysis and generates a disruption indicator for the employee. The approach can also tune the disruption indicator by weighting the assessment of the stressful situation with the employee's biometric data from the time of the stressful situation.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 3, 2016Publication date: December 7, 2017Inventors: John V. Delaney, Mickey Iqbal, Nadeem Malik, Niambh Scullion, Clea A. Zolotow

Patent number: 9639618Abstract: System, method and program product for forming a search query. A user enters search terms. Icons that correspond to the respective search terms are automatically determined and displayed. The icons are not the search results. An indication is received from a user whether the icons represent a context intended by the search terms. If the user indicates that the icons represent the context intended by the search terms, a search that corresponds to the icons is conducted. The search query can be structured or unstructured. If the user indicates that one of the icons does not represent a corresponding search term entered by the user (for example, if the search term is a homonym), then the context of the corresponding search term is determined as well as another icon corresponding to the context of the corresponding search term entered by the user. A hierarchical relationship between the icons can be determined and displayed.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 2006Date of Patent: May 2, 2017Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventor: Mickey Iqbal
