  • Patent number: 8015130
Abstract: In a hierarchical neural network having a module structure, learning necessary for detection of a new feature class is executed by a processing module which has not finished learning yet and includes a plurality of neurons which should learn an unlearned feature class and have an undetermined receptor field structure by presenting a predetermined pattern to a data input layer. • Patent number: 7991719
Abstract: An output value of neuron within an objective layer of a hierarchical neural network is computed. The data of the output value of neuron is stored in a memory only if the output value of neuron is greater than or equal to a predetermined value by referring to the computed output value of neuron within the objective layer. When the data of the output value of neuron on a former layer of objective layer is read from the memory, the data having a predetermined value is read, instead of the data of the output value of neuron not stored in the memory.

  • Patent number: 7964344
Abstract: A hybrid formed of a probe nucleic acid immobilized onto a substrate and a sample nucleic acid, in which the target strand of the sample nucleic acid is longer than the probe nucleic acid, so that at least a 5? end portion of the target strand extends upstream the target sequence; a 3? end of the target strand is the same as a 3? end of the target sequence or extends downstream the target sequence by at least one base from the 3? end of the target sequence; and provided that when the number of bases of the extending 5? portion is designated as L1, and the number of bases of the extending 3? portion of the target strand is designated as L2, a value of L1/L2 falls within the range of 0 to 1.5 both inclusive. This hybrid is very stable so that useful for detecting a small amount of nucleic acid specifically with high sensitivity.

  • Patent number: 7766828
Abstract: A condition analysis unit (1302) estimates a surrounding environment and psychological state of the user on the basis of image data, voice data, and living body information. When the estimated psychological state is a predetermined state, a cause estimation unit (1303) estimates based on the living body information whether or not the physical condition of the user is bad. When the estimated psychological state is the predetermined state, the cause estimation unit estimates a cause of the psychological state on the basis of the surrounding environment.

  • Patent number: 7577297
Abstract: In a pattern identification device performing pattern identification of data which has been input by hierarchically extracting features, a primary feature is extracted and distribution of at least one feature extraction result extracted is analyzed, a secondary feature is extracted according to this analysis result. Thus, it is possible to perform pattern identification robustly against fluctuations of the input pattern at a reduced processing cost while reducing the probability of occurrence of incorrect identification.

  • Patent number: 7534566
Abstract: It is provided a nucleic acid labeling method that can reduce to a minimum the amount of a labeling substance used and can effectively incorporate the labeling substance into a product, a target nucleic acid to be detected. In the labeling of a target nucleic acid sequence in a product while it is amplified by PCR, at least one type from among four types of substrates A, T, C and G is chosen as a substrate to be labeled, the concentration of the chosen substrates is adjusted to be lower than that of the non-chosen substrates, and at least the labeled substrates are contained in the chosen substrates.

  • Publication number: 20090093966
Abstract: A data processing method of reducing signals to numerical values and processing the numerical values are provided. The signals are obtained by using a probe array where probes of a plurality of kinds are immobilized on a solid phase as so many spots such that a plurality of spots of probes of one kind are arranged on the solid phase and causing the array to react with a target substance. The method comprises (1) a step of acquiring the signal from each spot as numerical data, and (2) a step of eliminating singular values from the numerical data obtained for the plurality of spots of probes of one kind and processing the remaining numerical data to determine representative numerical data.

  • Publication number: 20060051788
Abstract: Provided is a probe set having the same level of hybrid stability when a plurality of probes are assigned to an identical nucleic acid to be detected. The probe set is adjusted in the binding strength, for example a Tm value, of each probe in consideration of the nucleotide length of single strand portions located on both sides of a hybrid composed of a nucleic acid to be detected and the probe. If necessary, a probe is assigned to a complementary strand of the nucleic acid to be detected. A probe substrate bound with the probe set is also provided.
