  • Patent number: 11716172
Abstract: A method for delivering payloads through an interface includes receiving an out-of-sequence data transfer unit, DTU; segmenting the out-of-sequence DTU into at least one data unit; determining at least one priority level of the at least one data unit; and for any particular data unit among the at least one data unit, (1) selectively forwarding a payload of the particular data unit to the interface in response to priority level thereof satisfying a priority condition; or (2) holding the particular data unit in response to the priority level thereof not satisfying the priority condition.

  • Publication number: 20090285200
Abstract: The present invention concerns a networking device comprising a first interface to a first network and a second interface to a second network. The device comprises connecting means for associating to a terminal located on the first network and storing a unique and permanent identifier of the terminal, means for registering with an address comprising the terminal identifier to a server located on the second network for using a service, and means for enabling the terminal to use the service on the address.

  • Patent number: 6898209
Abstract: A method for assembling frames of a multiframe that calculates the value of an identifier for inclusion within each of the frames before the frames are transmitted at a transmitter clock rate. The amount of distinct values that the identifier can have is less than the amount of frames within the multiframe. This identifier is extracted from the frames in a receiver, and is used for determining a position in a temporary buffer having an amount of memory locations that is smaller than the amount of frames within the multiframe. The frames are read from positions in the temporary buffer for storage into subsequent locations into a multiframe buffer memory, irrespective of the value of the identifier. The receiver clock is synchronized with the transmitter clock.

  • Patent number: 6892389
Abstract: In an access network (ACCESS NETWORK) wherein channels (TV1, TV2) of a distributive interactive service are broadcasted, the user terminals (UT1, UT2, UT3) send first type request information to a broadcasting unit (BCU2), close to the subscribers, to indicate the requested channels (TV1, TV6). In case one of the requested channels (TV6) is not available at the input of this broadcasting unit (BCU2), the latter broadcasting unit (BCU2) generates second type request information indicative for the unavailable requested channel (TV6) and sends this second type request information to a more central broadcasting unit (BCU1). Thus, a broadcasting unit (BCU2) close to the subscribers upon request of one of the subscribers either broadcasts a requested channel (TV1) to the subscribers or requests a more central broadcasting unit (BCU1) to be provided with the requested channel (TV6).

  • Publication number: 20010024453
Abstract: In a method for assembling frames of a multiframe first the value of an identifier (c) for inclusion within each of said frames is calculated before these are transmitted at the rate of a transmitter clock (CLKTX). The identifier is calculated such that the amount of distinct values (m) said identifier can have is less than the amount of frames (f) within said multiframe. This identifier is extracted from said frames in a receiver, and is used for determining a position in a temporary buffer (CM) of which the amount of memory locations (x) is smaller than said amount of frames (f) within said multiframe. The frames are then read from positions in said temporary buffer for storage into subsequent locations into a multiframe buffer memory, irrespective of the value of said identifier (c). The receiver clock is thereby synchronised (CLKRX) with the transmitter clock (CLKTX). A transmitter, frame receiver device, receiver and communications network wherein this method is performed are described as well.
