The image processing apparatus 1 calculates the lengths of the sides of each of the front and back sides of a recording sheet by detecting the intersection points of the surrounding edges of the recording sheet with reference to the image data of the each of the front and back sides. A magnification error is calculated based on the lengths of the sides corresponding between the front and back sides. A correction amount is then calculated based on the calculated magnification error in order to make the lengths of each side match each other.
