  • Patent number: 11391007
Abstract: A measuring device for geomechanical characterization of a soil, the measuring device including a housing, a dynamic penetrometer, a power supply battery, accommodated in the housing, and an electronic system accommodated in the housing and connected to the battery. The electronic system comprises an accelerometer, as well as a distance sensor, which, in use, is oriented towards a soil and which is adapted to determine the distance between the measuring device and the soil surface by measuring the time required for a wave to travel back and forth between the distance sensor and the soil surface. The electronic system also comprises a processing unit which, when the battery powers the entire electronic system, is adapted to apply processing to measuring signals coming from the accelerometer and the distance sensor.

  • Publication number: 20210238819
Abstract: This measuring device (200), which is practical and efficient, comprises a housing (210), to be attached to a dynamic penetrometer (100), a power supply battery (250), accommodated in the casing, and an electronic system (240) which is accommodated in the casing and connected to the battery.

  • Patent number: 9719903
Abstract: The penetrometer includes a chassis, a mast mounted thereon and positioned substantially vertically during a test, a rod string, including a tip penetrating the ground that is positioned at one end of the rod string, an anvil that bears against the rod string at an end opposite the tip, a hammer striking the anvil, elements for raising the hammer along the mast up to a fall height, at which the hammer is released, and elements for measuring the sinking of the tip into the ground. The penetrometer further includes an electronic control unit for controlling the fall height, and configured to select the fall height adopted for the test based on the sinking of the tip measured by the measuring elements during one or more earlier tests, and mechanical elements controlled by the control unit for triggering the fall of the hammer at the height selected by the control unit.

  • Patent number: 9625363
Abstract: A measuring head, intended to be fitted to a dynamic penetrometer, and attached to a drill string provided with a tip, includes a driving head intended to receive an impact to be transmitted, via the rest of the measuring head, to the drill string; and a central rod for transmitting the impact from the driving head to the drill string, the central rod having a first end turned towards the driving head, and a second end opposite the first end, and suitable for engaging with the drill string, the central rod being provided with at least one deformation sensor. It includes at least one absorption member interposed between an impact receiving end portion of the driving head and the second end of the central rod and which is suitable for filtering the wave transmitted to the drill string when the end portion of the driving head receives an impact.
