  • Publication number: 20030066093
Abstract: A method of broadcasting a plurality of media to an unlimited number of subscribers through a digital communications network having a limited bandwidth is disclosed. The method selects a first group of digitized media each divided into a plurality of temporally related frames. The method transmits the plurality of temporally related frames of the first group of digitized media through the digital communications network in a compressed format, wherein the transmission includes a header along with each of the plurality of temporally related frames wherein the header identifies the temporal sequence of the frames. The method retransmits the plurality of temporally related frames of the first group of digitized media through the digital communications network in the compressed format immediately upon completion of the step of transmitting the plurality of temporally related frames of the first group of digitized media.

  • Publication number: 20020118096
Abstract: A security system includes a central computer connected through a network to a plurality of remote computers. A database of user information is created at the central computer and copied to the remote computers. The remote computers include user interfaces for the collection of user information such a fingerprint and a user ID. When a user provides this information, the remote computer compares it to the database. If a match is generated, the remote computer authorizes access through an associated passageway. The security system can also be used to monitor user access times and to present messages to users.

  • Publication number: 20020082993
Abstract: An automated transaction machine includes a computer coupled with a financial transaction network. The computer is able to receive paper coupons and determine account and vendor information therefrom. The computer is also coupled with a currency acceptor and a debit or credit card acceptor. Payment against the paper coupons may be made through the currency acceptor or card acceptor.

  • Publication number: 20020063154
Abstract: A security system database is configured to store a unique identifier and a biometrics feature for each user's. This information is periodically transferred from a central server to a plurality of access controllers. The access controllers in turn control building access based upon the information received from the central server. The access data is in turn periodically transferred from the access controllers to the central server. The central server uses this information to generate access reports.

  • Publication number: 20020037097
Abstract: An automated transaction machine includes a scanner configured to receive a bill or coupon. The coupon is processed by application of connected component analysis, segmentation, coupon matching, and data extraction to determine an associated vendor and customer account information. This information is used to complete a payment transaction.

  • Patent number: 5906434
Abstract: A rotator for agitating materials disposed within a sealed container incls a base having opposite ends, first and second opposite spaced apart side portions extend up from the base, a substantially triangular shaped drum having first, second and third side surfaces, a pair of opposing end surfaces, and a central axis passing through the end surfaces. At least one side surface receives the sealed container. The drum is rotatably coupled to the side portions and is rotatable about the central axis.

  • Patent number: 5315498
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for blanking the trailing edge of a sensed current signal taken from the leading leg of a full bridge voltage regulator. Switching elements in the arms of the full bridge voltage regulator cycle on and off in staggered phases under control of a pulse width modulation controller to provide zero voltage drop switching of the elements. With trailing edge blanking of the sensed current signal, a control waveform is generated for delivery to the pulse width modulation controller which mimics a sensed current signal taken from the lagging leg of the bridge. Such a current waveform exhibits a clear peak enhancing circuit stability thereby permitting use of leading leg current sensing to improve power supply efficiency.
