    Abstract: Systems and methods for sending health care alerts or reminders to patients, such as a reminder to visit the doctor, be vaccinated, or undergo a therapy. The alerts and reminders may be delivered to the patient's cell phone, PDA, or computer, for example. The system manages information of patients and/or caregivers who are eligible for a vaccine or therapy, but have not contacted their health care professional yet for an appointment or taken the vaccine. The system serves to increase the number of patients who will undertake a desired action to which the alert/reminder was directed, such as getting a vaccine, visiting the doctor, or obtaining the remainder of one's therapy, medication, or vaccine.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for setting up and sending healthcare alerts (e.g. immunization reminders) to patients/caregivers through the use of communications devices. In an embodiment, information about a patient's/caregiver's wireless device (e.g. cell phones) is collected and reported to an immunization registry. The registry is linked to a system that uses the wireless device information to generate automatic wireless immunization reminders, recalls and educational messages that are sent to the patient/caregiver. In a preferred embodiment, opt-in information is reported to the system to ensure that the patient/caregiver has consented to the automatic wireless immunization reminders.
