  • Publication number: 20150176566
Abstract: It describes a control system and method of a wind turbine to operate it in optimum output operation in situations wherein incidents occur. To do this a series of measurements are taken of elements in the surrounding area of the wind turbine which incide it to be able to calculate blade pitch angle set-points to reorientate or move the same until positions designated in accordance with said pitch angle set-point. The method described here is based, among other parameters, on the wind speed; so that it provides for at least two possible control situations in accordance with said speed: one when the speed is less than a rated value and another when said speed is greater than a rated value.

  • Patent number: 9018784
Abstract: A wind turbine control method is described based on the performance of various measurements of the oscillations of the nacelle of the wind turbine for the purpose of carrying out a series of calculations, the results of which allow parameterization of certain actions on different wind turbine elements in order to dampen oscillations. In summary, it may be said that the object of the invention described herein is a wind turbine control method whereby the oscillations of the nacelle of the wind turbine are dampened in the presence of voltage dips in particular and, in general, in any event that is susceptible of reducing active current generation capacity.

  • Patent number: 8928163
Abstract: The present invention describes a process for controlling the active power injected into the grid by a generating plant for contributing to the stability of the power grid in the event of frequency variations where, in response to a deviation in grid frequency, each generating unit calculates an active power variation parameter generated based on a first parameter stored in said generating unit, said first parameter being representative of a respective contribution of said generating unit to a required variation in total active power of the generating plant, and where a central control unit of the generating plant connected to each generating unit updates the value of the first parameters when changes are produced therein.

  • Patent number: 8834100
Abstract: A wind turbine blade bearing with a fixed ring fixed to a hub of the wind turbine and a moving ring whereto the blade is fixed by corresponding fixing elements; the bearing making it possible to avoid the collision of the blade with the wind turbine tower by providing a separation therebetween via the disposal of the blades at an angle with respect to the wind turbine hub; where the angle is given by the bearing of the blade pitch change system. The separation is achieved since a rear face of the moving ring is in contact with the blade so that a plane defined by the rear face is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the blade, the rear face not being perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the bearing.

  • Patent number: 8759995
Abstract: The control method of a wind turbine generator increases the speed range of wind turbine generators, maximizing the operation and efficiency thereof, in addition to lengthening their service life, on minimizing the extreme and fatigue loads to which the wind turbine generators are subject, and which are due mainly to the stops and disconnections thereof as a result of strong gusts of wind. More specifically, the control method of the present invention stands out essentially for being based on the control of the reactive current circulating through the electric generator, said reactive current control being carried out in accordance with the rotational speed (?g) for the purpose of reducing the voltage at the converter terminals on the generator side, or rotor voltage (VR), which ultimately allows a transitional increase in the speed range of the wind turbine generator.
