  • Patent number: 11445422
Abstract: In one example, a method includes monitoring conditions in a telecommunication service provider network, selecting a first path by which to connect a communication session between a first endpoint and a second endpoint, wherein the first path is a path through the network that is expected to satisfy a predefined level of performance for the communication session based on the conditions, connecting the first endpoint and the second endpoint via the first path, detecting a change in the conditions that results in the first path failing to satisfy the predefined level of performance, selecting a second path by which to connect the communication session, wherein the second path is a path through the network that is expected to satisfy the predefined level of performance for the communication session based on the conditions as changed, and initiating a handoff of the communication session from the first path to the second path.

  • Patent number: 4750131
Abstract: A method of detecting the forming of defective parts with a progressive die includes the step of generating a reference force/displacement curve for each forming station of the die while a number of sample parts are formed. The curves are stored in a data processor. The forming force at each forming station, and the displacement are monitored during the formation of production parts and supplied to the data processor. The production force data are compared to the reference force data for each displacement to indicate faults in various parameters previously set into the data processor.

  • Patent number: 4632444
Abstract: A robotic hand is provided with an array of movable spring loaded fingers and an assembly opposed to the fingers. An object to be grasped by the hand is pushed by the assembly toward and into contact with the fingers. An electrical signal is produced when each finger is contacted by the object. The time intervals between various finger contacts are measured and used to calculate the distance that the object moved during those intervals. These distances provide information about the shape of the object which can be used to differentiate between objects of various shapes.

  • Patent number: 4592220
Abstract: A system for the automatic adjustment of the pressure pad holding force in accordance with the thickness of the workpiece and the forming tool stroke includes a force transducer and a displacement transducer. The force transducer is used to monitor the force between the pressure pad and the workpiece. The output of the displacement transducer is continually read as the part is being formed. The workpiece thickness and forming tool stroke are used to calculate the optimum holding force. The pressure of a fluid system is adjusted to change the holding force to the optimum value.

  • Patent number: 4548066
Abstract: A system for the in press measurement of the thickness of a workpiece includes a force transducer and a displacement transducer. The force transducer is used to detect the contact between the forming tool and the workpiece. The output of the displacement transducer is continually read and recorded at the instant the force transducer indicates the contact between the forming tool and the workpiece. The output of the displacement transducer is correlated to known thicknesses and thus is indicative of the thickness of the unknown specimen.
