Patent number: 9369016Abstract: A rotor (1) for an electric machine, in particular a permanently excited synchronous machine. At least one recess (20) is formed on the outer wall (12) of the receiving space (6) and forms a non-magnetizable space (29) adjacent to the lengthwise surface (10) of the permanent magnet (7). Due to this non-magnetizable space (29), iron losses in the stator teeth can be reduced in particular during operation of the electric machine in the field weakening range, which may result in a rise in efficacy of up to 3% for the electric machine.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2013Date of Patent: June 14, 2016Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Mercedes Herranz Gracia, Marcus Alexander, Arndt Kelleter, Nils Gebert, Miguel Ruiz De Larramendi, Patrick Heuser, Sebastian Tabarelli

Publication number: 20150311759Abstract: The invention relates to an asynchronous machine (1) as can be used particularly in electric vehicles or hybrid vehicles. The asynchronous machine (1) has a rotor (5) and a stator (3). The asynchronous machine is designed and controlled in such a manner that it has a pole pair number p of p=3. Because of the reduced yoke saturation that can consequently be achieved, the stator yoke (9) can be designed with a lesser height hy1, such that a ratio of the outer rotor diameter D2a to the outer stator diameter D1a can assume values between 0.7 and 0.8. As a result, enlarged rotor teeth (19) and correspondingly enlarged rotor grooves (21) can be formed in the rotor (5), such that electrical losses in the material in the rotor grooves (21) acting as the rotor coil element (23) are smaller in comparison to conventional asynchronous machines.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 15, 2013Publication date: October 29, 2015Applicant: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Patrick Heuser, Miguel Ruiz De Larramendi, Mercedes Herranz Gracia

Publication number: 20050251909Abstract: Described herein is a crib and locking mechanism for a crib. Preferably, a pair of mechanisms is located on the left and the right side of the top horizontal member of the front guard rail, and another pair is on the rear guard rail, with the pairs being positioned on either the outside of the guard rail(s) or on the inside of the guard rail(s). Each mechanism preferably includes a bar that can be slid back (“lock”) and forth (“release”). One end of the bar has a notch that covers a complimentary section within the crib frame to keep the rail from sliding down. There is a slit on the inside of the horizontal member through which a protruding knob is exposed. Moving the knob slides the bar back and forth. In order to lower the rail, the rail must be slightly lifted to disengage the notch from its complimentary part and the knob of both mechanisms must be simultaneously moved to the “release” position. Additionally, the rail can be completely removed from the crib.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 13, 2005Publication date: November 17, 2005Inventors: Miguel Ruiz, Nisha Sawhney

Patent number: 5863301Abstract: A heavy hydrocarbon, oil-in-water emulsion that has a relatively low viscosity for improved transport is disclosed. The emulsion is produced by combining the heavy hydrocarbon with an aqueous solution of emulsifier with agitation. The emulsifier has an HLB value of about 13 to about 16. The emulsifier can be anionic, nonionic, amphoteric, or a mixture thereof. Stirring is effected at medium shear values of about 0.1 sec.sup.-1 to about 20 sec.sup.-1 and at a mixer speed of 50 to 2000 rpm. The mixer imparts sufficient power and shear to the emulsion so that a mean oil droplet size of about 30 .mu.m is obtained.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 1997Date of Patent: January 26, 1999Assignee: Empresa Colombiana de Petroleos ("ECOPETROL")Inventors: Jorge Luis Grosso, Martha Josefina Parra, Omar Caceres, Edelmira Afanador, Humberto Vidales, Fabio Enrique Hernandez, Rigoberto Barrero, Miguel Ruiz

Patent number: 5406694Abstract: A method of fabricating thin-film magnetic recording heads or "sliders" employs the step of slicing a wafer containing like-oriented transducers into chunks, each chunk containing at least a minimum number of rows of transducers such that the amount of bow induced in the chunk is minimized. Following the chunk slice, one of two methods may be followed to yield precisely-lapped single rows of sliders. In the first method, the chunk is bonded to a rigid support piece at one end, and to a rigid carrier tool at the other. The row bonded to the carrier is then sliced away from the chunk and lapped while attached to the carrier. The steps of bonding, slicing, and lapping are then repeated for each row in the chunk. In the second method, the chunk is bonded to a rigid carrier tool at one end, and the row at the other end is then lapped and sliced off. The steps of lapping and slicing are repeated for each row in the chunk.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 1993Date of Patent: April 18, 1995Assignee: Rocky Mountain Magnetics, Inc.Inventor: Miguel A. Patent number: 4758770Abstract: A servosystem for controlling the voltage in X-ray generators includes a system for controlling the voltage of the primary of a high voltage transformer for feeding the X-ray tubes. A servosystem controls the position and adjustment of acceleration, uniform movement and braking, and supplies a direct current motor, of the permanent magnet type and of standard manufacture, which moves the brushes of a three-phase or mono-phase toroidal autotransformer, the operation of which fixes the primary voltage of the high voltage transformer which, in turn, supplies a voltage to an X-ray tube.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 1982Date of Patent: July 19, 1988Assignee: General Espanola de Electromedicina S.A.Inventors: Carlos Manueco Santurtun, Miguel A. Patent number: 4040179Abstract: A pistol-type tool for making electrical connections comprises a slide arranged to grip a box-type electrical connector containing slotted plate terminals. The connector is fed into the slide from a magazine with the lid of the connector fully open, the slide is advanced to the forward end of the tool where the connector is loaded with wires manually, a nose member is moved out of the tool body partially to close the lid and is then retracted back into the body, the slide is retracted to position the connector under an open jaw which closes fully to close the lid so as to force the wires into the slots of the terminals in the connector and the jaw is finally opened to allow the connector to be removed from the tool.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 1977Date of Patent: August 9, 1977Assignee: AMP IncorporatedInventor: Miguel Ruiz Sanchez
