Specifically, the disclosure provides methods for ultrasound-mediated non-invasive delivery of gene therapy agents to the central nervous system, wherein magnetic resonance (MR) guided focused ultrasound is used, optionally in combination with microbubbles, to facilitate gene delivery to a particular region of the brain.
