    Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for a turbine for generating electrical power from fluid flow comprising a duct with an oblong elevation, intake hoods and vents, aft diffuser cutouts and an oblique face to optimize flow and therefore power characteristics. A unidirectional turbine generator apparatus is also disclosed comprising turbine blades with one or more raked and/or tapered sections, and optionally also with multiple beaded surface features to improve efficiency and performance of the turbine generator. A hydro turbine generator with a single-sided axial-flux magnetic generator is disclosed comprising a hybrid magnetic/anti-friction axial bearing assembly. A multiple turbine generator arrangement is also disclosed comprising multiple unidirectional turbine generators connected to a shore-based electrical distribution system.

    Abstract: An electrical coil assembly for use in a flooded electrical machine operating in an electrically conductive and/or chemically aggressive medium, and a method for manufacturing an electrical coil assembly, are disclosed. The electrical coil assembly incorporates an electrical cable coil winding and a magnetic core. The electrical coil winding is wound of electrical cable with dielectric insulation that is also a waterproof molecular barrier and is covered with at least one layer of waterproof adhesive material. The magnetic core is substantially surrounded with a dielectric insulation layer, which is covered with at least one layer of waterproof adhesive material. The combination of dielectric insulation and waterproof adhesive layers provide protection against the ingress of water and accordingly reduce risk of electrical fault and failure of the electrical coil assembly in submerged service.

The apparatus may include a support structure, the rotor segment being slidably coupled to the support structure and the stator segment being attached to the support structure. The apparatus may be a rim generator, wind turbine generator or other electrical machine. The stator winding set includes a stator winding, and may include other electrical or electronic components, including possibly a power factor capacitor, direct current filtering capacitor, supercapacitor, and one or more diodes. The stator winding set may be encapsulated within the stator segment.
