    Abstract: A high pressure sodium discharge lamp includes an arc tube which encloses a discharge sustaining fill which comprises sodium. Electrodes extend into the fill for generating an arc discharge in the fill during operation of the lamp. At least one of the electrodes includes a coiled coil which supports an emitter material thereon.
