Patent number: 11657264Abstract: Media content is received for streaming to a user device. A neural network is trained based on a first portion of the media content. Weights of the neural network are updated to overfit the first portion of the media content to provide a first overfitted neural network. The neural network or the first overfitted neural network is trained based on a second portion of the media content. Weights of the neural network or the first overfitted neural network are updated to overfit the second portion of the media content to provide a second overfitted neural network. The first portion and the second portion of the media content are sent with associations to the first overfitted neural network and the second overfitted to the user equipment.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 2018Date of Patent: May 23, 2023Assignee: Nokia Technologies OyInventors: Francesco Cricri, Caglar Aytekin, Emre Baris Aksu, Miika Sakari Tupala, Xingyang Ni

Patent number: 8411737Abstract: Aspects of the invention provide apparatuses, computer media, and methods for supporting the broadcast of extended signaling data over a network. With an aspect of the invention, all of the extended signaling data may be distributed over multiple data frames. With another aspect, only dynamic signaling redundancy data is distributed over different data frames, where systematic information (for example, configurable signaling data) is transmitted in accordance with traditional systems. In addition, backwards compatibility with traditional systems may be supported, in which extended signaling is contained in an extension field. Error correction code may be applied to the extended signaling in concert with different codes. With another aspect, only extended signaling is supported without backwards compatibility with traditional systems.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2009Date of Patent: April 2, 2013Assignee: Nokia CorporationInventors: Miika Sakari Tupala, Pekka Talmola, Jussi Kalevi Vesma, Tero Tapio Jokela

Patent number: 8208522Abstract: Systems and methods for receiving an OFDM preamble without knowledge of channel characteristics are provided. An OFDM preamble signal with frequency shifted cyclic extensions is received. Taken together the cyclic extensions form a frequency shifted version of the OFDM preamble signal. Frequency offsets and timing offsets are estimated and corrected in an efficient manner using a simple concatenation approach in the time domain, followed by a summation of the OFDM preamble signal and the concatenation after a transformation of the OFDM preamble and the concatenation into the frequency domain. Phase errors in the frequency domain are estimated and corrected after FFT transformations of the received signals. A valid preamble is detected and additional parameters for receiving subsequently transmitted OFDM symbols in a channel are extracted from the OFDM preamble. The methods are computationally efficient and robust. Receiver implementations for performing the methods in a DVB receiver are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2008Date of Patent: June 26, 2012Assignee: Nokia CorporationInventors: Miika Sakari Tupala, Jukka Allan Henriksson, Jussi Vesma

Publication number: 20100091916Abstract: Embodiments are directed to first and second OFDM pilot symbols. The first and second pilot symbols may have first and second sets, respectively, of allowed, forbidden, and active carrier frequencies. The second sets of carrier frequencies may be formed by frequency shifting the respective first sets by a predetermined frequency, such as the frequency difference between adjacent carriers. An embodiment is directed to frequency translating part of a first received pilot symbol by one carrier interval in a first direction, frequency translating part of a second received pilot symbol by one carrier interval in a second direction that is opposite from the first direction, and forming a correlation by multiplying the frequency translated parts of the first and second pilot symbols by complex conjugates of parts of the pilot symbols upon which frequency translation has not been performed, and summing the multiplication results.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 14, 2009Publication date: April 15, 2010Applicant: NOKIA CORPORATIONInventors: Jukka Allan Henriksson, Miika Sakari Tupala, Jussi Vesma
