  • Publication number: 20180193997
Abstract: An apparatus (100) for cutting workpieces comprises a clamping mechanism (2) adapted to be fastened to said workpiece (1) rotatably therearound. The clamping mechanism (2) comprises a frame element (5) and first and second arms (6, 7) extending therefrom. The arms (6, 7) are coupled at one end to the frame element (5) of the clamping mechanism (2) and each arm (6, 7) has its free end fitted with a contacting member (15, 16, 31, 32) configured to contact the surface of the workpiece. The apparatus comprises also two movable guiding members (28, 29) to which said arms (6, 7) are coupled so that when said guiding members (28, 29) are moved away from each other, the contacting member (15, 16, 31, 32) of the arms (6, 7) are configured to be moved away from each other and vice versa. The apparatus comprises also at least two supporting bars (50, 51) elongated through said guiding members (28, 29).

  • Patent number: 9868164
Abstract: An apparatus (100) for machining a tubular or round-bar type piece, wherein the apparatus comprises a frame element (102), a machining unit (104), as well as a threaded shaft (110), which is fitted to the frame element in a rotatable and axially immobile fashion and has a first section 110a) provided with a right-handed thread and a second section (110b) with a left-handed thread. The first section is provided with at least one first support element (106a) and the second section is provided with at least one second support element (106b), the mutual distance between the support elements being adjustable in response to rotating the threaded shaft, such that the support elements, for example wheels, are adapted to touch a workpiece and to support and guide the apparatus (100) in the process of machining the piece. At least one of the support elements, such as wheels (106a, 106b), is adapted to be capable of rotating relative to its axis in response to moving the apparatus along the surface of a workpiece.

  • Patent number: 7257895
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting workpieces adapted to engage the workpiece in at least four points of surface engagement. The apparatus has a clamping mechanism designed to be fastened to the workpiece. The clamping mechanism has a tool unit attached which includes adjustment means for displacing the tool unit relative to the clamping mechanism towards or away from the workpiece. The clamping mechanism has a frame element and arms extending from the clamping mechanism. Each of the four arms includes a bearing wheel. Each of the wheels may be used to engage a workpiece to retain its position while it is being cut.
