  • Publication number: 20240067908
Abstract: The invention relates to a reactor for manufacturing biogas from organic raw material using anaerobic digestion, the reactor including a tubular reaction chamber composed of a bottom, walls and a ceiling for processing the raw material into end products, and agitation and transfer equipment arranged in the reaction chamber. The reactor includes an external support frame structure arranged on the outer surface included in the reaction chamber for stiffening and supporting the reaction chamber externally against the forces generated by the raw material. The shell of the reactor chamber is composed of outer shell elements and inner shell elements placed apart from each other inside a space defined by the support frame structure, which together form the housing structure of the shell, and the filling space or housing between which is concreted.

  • Patent number: 9890349
Abstract: A process for utilizing bio-based oils and/or fats for producing biofuels includes the steps of: mixing alcohol with a raw material for forming a reaction mixture; pumping the reaction mixture to a reactor; mixing biogas as a catalyst with the reaction mixture in a selected process step either before or after the supply of the reaction mixture to a high-pressure pump, the biogas including methane and carbon dioxide; adjusting a temperature and pressure of the reactor so that the reaction mixture achieves a supercritical state; esterifying the reaction mixture to produce liquid biofuel and by-products; separating the by-products including methane and alcohol from the liquid biofuel; and recovering separated methane. An equivalent system for utilizing bio-based oils and/or fats for producing biofuels is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20160298067
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing biogas from biomass using anaerobic digestion wherein biomass is fed as input to a reaction space using mechanical feed equipment while simultaneously advancing biomass contained in the reaction space as plug flow. Biomass is mixed separately in each block in the reaction space divided into successive blocks for feeding biomass to block-specific microbial strains. The number of blocks is at least three each comprising its own main microbial strain. Biogas produced as the result of anaerobic digestion of biomass is recovered. The microbial strain of each block is fed in front of the corresponding block and, in at least two of these blocks, the feed is reject obtained from the block as high consistency stock. The invention also relates to a corresponding reactor.
