  • Patent number: 8384718
Abstract: A system enables a user viewing a plurality of graphical objects rendered on a display screen of a mobile device to manipulate the renderings of each graphical object for purposes of selecting a first of the graphical objects. The system comprises the display screen and a facial proximity system determining the distance of the mobile device from the face of the user. A graphical user interface control system drives a rendering of the graphical objects on the display screen. Further, upon receiving an indication of a change in distance between the mobile device and the face of the user and, upon determining that the distance between the mobile device and the face of the user has changed, the graphical user interface control system modifies at least one of the size of the rendering of the graphical objects and the perspective of the rendering of the graphical objects on the display screen.

  • Publication number: 20090280860
Abstract: A portable electronic device includes a motion sensor sensing motion inputs to the device, a haptic output device, including one or more haptic devices, providing force feedback representing interpretation of motion of the device, and a processor responsive to a motion input as sensed by the motion sensor as a representation of motion of the portable electronic device, and wherein the haptic output device provides a haptic output as feedback indicating how the motion is interpreted by the portable electronic device without the need for a user of the device to look at the display of the device. The haptic output may represent whether a telephone call has been completed or the called telephone is busy. A method of indicating the result of motion or of selecting of a function of a portable electronic device and providing haptic output representative thereof as feedback without the need to view the device display.

  • Publication number: 20050289353
Abstract: A method and system for indicating to a user whether the application is a trusted application. The trusted application accurately displays a secret code to a user and a non-trusted application does not accurately display the secret code to the user. This Abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an Abstract that allows a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain subject matter of the technical disclosure. This Abstract is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

  • Patent number: 6052618
Abstract: A device for mapping electrical activity in a patient's heart, has an imaging unit, such as a fluoroscopic imaging unit, for generating a physical in vivo image of a patient's heart as an anatomical reference image, an electrode catheter, with at least one electrode for sensing intracardiac electrical activity, for insertion into a patient's heart, and signal processing equipment for determining activation times, from sensed electrical activity, in relation to a reference time for electrical activity at different points in the heart, and for generating a graphic image showing the activation times at different points in the heart and superimposing this graphic image onto the anatomical image. An arrangement is further provided for inserting at least one reference point into the anatomical image, and a setting unit moves the graphic image in relation to the reference image with the aid of the reference point.

  • Patent number: 5991355
Abstract: A device for counting the number of usage cycles of a sensor, for intracorporeal electrophysiological measurement and/or therapy, has a counting unit, connected to the sensor, containing a specific identification code for the sensor, and a detection unit which detects the sensor's connection/disconnection to/from external measurement and therapy equipment. The detection unit causes a sensing unit to read a sensor identification code in the counting unit whenever the sensor is connected so as to determine, from information about sensor usage stored in a main computer, whether conditions for a new usage cycle have been met and, if so, increments the counter's contents by one usage cycle.
