Abstract: The invention is a method for scheduling the transport of downlink data packets in a radio access bearer for a non-real-time (NRT) data transport service. The invention adapts the scheduled bit rate of the Radio Access bearer to the bit rate value that the radio interface (Uu) can currently provide and comprises the steps a) ascertaining an upper limit of a bit rate value that the radio interface comprised by the radio access bearer is currently able to provide for said NRT data transport service, and b) scheduling the downlink data packets in the radio access bearer with a bit rate smaller than or equal to the bit rate upper limit value.
