  • Publication number: 20240082086
Abstract: A manifold assembly includes a manifold core defining an inlet tube, an outlet tube, a first projection configured to be fluidly coupled with a first bladder, and a second projection configured to be fluidly coupled with a second bladder. A connector is operably coupled to the manifold core and defines a first pathway region, a second pathway region, and release notches. A motor rotates the connector to a first position to fluidly couple the outlet tube with the first projection via the first pathway region and the inlet tube with the second projection via the second pathway region, to a second position to fluidly couple the first and projections with the release notches, and to a third position to fluidly couple the outlet tube with the second projection via the first pathway region and the inlet tube with the first projection via the second pathway region.

  • Publication number: 20230000703
Abstract: A support surface assembly includes a covering defining an interior. Bladders are disposed within the interior. The bladders are operable between a deployed state and a non-deployed state. A manifold assembly is disposed within the interior of the covering. The manifold assembly includes a manifold core defining an inlet and multiple outlets. An engagement surface of the manifold core defines an inlet-connecting aperture in fluid communication with the inlet and multiple outlet-connecting apertures each in fluid communication with one of the multiple outlets. A connector includes an inner side that abuts the engagement surface of the manifold core. The inner side defines a recessed region. The connector is configured to be rotated by a motor to fluidly couple the inlet-connecting aperture with at least one of the outlet-connecting apertures to adjust the respective bladders between the deployed state and the non-deployed state.

  • Publication number: 20210259899
Abstract: A patient support apparatus includes a mattress that defines a plurality of grooves. A bladder is disposed within each groove. Each bladder is operable between a deployed state and a non-deployed state. A flap is disposed adjacent to each groove. Each flap includes a broad contact surface and a narrow contact surface. A manifold is in fluid communication with each bladder. The manifold is configured to direct fluid into each bladder to adjust the bladders between the deployed state and the non-deployed state, and consequently move the flaps between a raised position and a lowered position, respectively.
