Abstract: In one aspect, there is provided a handheld vision tester. In this particular embodiment, the handheld vision tester comprises a display, cursor control, and an interface port. The display delivers vision tests to a user. The user interacts with the vision tests by using the display and cursor control. The interface port allows for communication of results of the vision tests from the handheld tester to external devices.

Abstract: In one aspect, there is provided an embodiment of a calibration system for use with a vision tester having a display. In this particular embodiment, the calibration system comprises a calibration stand and a reflective surface. The calibration stand is configured to hold the vision tester. The reflective surface is coupled to the calibration stand and is oriented substantially parallel to the display. The calibration stand is configured to hold the display of the vision tester at a fixed distance from the reflective surface.

Abstract: A method is described for providing voice conferencing between a plurality of users over a communications network. A host user initiates a voice conference using a host user terminal, where pluralities of user terminals join the voice conference. On joining the voice conference, each participant user terminal displays a participant user interface, and the host user terminal displays a host user interface. At least one participant user activates a request control on the participant user interface which, in turn, transmits a request to the host user to speak in the voice conference. The host user can then activate a selection control to select from among participant users who transmitted the request, the speech of the at least one selected user being transmitted to all of the plurality of users.

Abstract: A method of sorting communication events at a user terminal connected to a communication network and executing a communication client arranged to be operable by a user is provided. The method comprises storing an event list comprising a list of identifiers, each identifier having information relating to at least one previously received communication event associated therewith, wherein the identifier identifies the initiator of the associated at least one previously received communication event and each identifier is listed only once in the list of identifiers. The event list is displayed in a user interface of the communication client. The method further comprises receiving an incoming communication event at the user terminal from an initiating user over the communication network and determining whether the initiating user is present in the list of identifiers stored in the event list.
