  • Publication number: 20230001591
Abstract: One or more embodiments of a device/knife for with a replaceable blade. The device may include a handle and a blade. The handle may include a grip, a pivot pin, and a latch. The pivot pin may have a first shape in a first plane. The blade may include an edged portion, a connection portion, and a tang. The connection portion may define an opening where the pivot pin is capable of entering into or exiting out of the opening of the connection portion if the pivot pin has a first orientation relative to the connection portion and the pivot pin is not capable of exiting out of the opening of the connection portion if the pivot pin has a second orientation. The latch may be configured to secure the tang of the blade when the pivot pin has the second orientation relative to the connection portion.

  • Patent number: 6978102
Abstract: Various embodiments of an ejection apparatus and methods are provided. In one representative embodiment an ejection apparatus includes a bar movable along a first axis and a carriage movable along a second axis which is distinct from the first axis. The bar which has an edge oriented along an angular position between the first axis and the second axis, is in physical communication with the carriage such that movement of the bar along the first axis causes movement of the carriage along the second axis.

  • Patent number: 6070988
Abstract: A control panel that includes printed information cards used in conjunction with status indicators to give the user detailed information about printer operations. The invented control panel includes a series of status indicators, such as the indicator lights used on low cost printers, and a corresponding series of card holders. Each card holder is linked to one of the status indicators by, for example, positioning each card holder immediately adjacent to the corresponding status indicator. One or more information cards are attached to each card holder. Where more than one information card is used with a single card holder, each card is, preferably, swing mounted to the card holder so that the user can flip through the cards to view pertinent information.

  • Patent number: 5434655
Abstract: A laser printer includes a cover with a top surface and an adjoining wall having an inlet opening for single-fed sheets. A receptacle is positioned beneath the cover for receiving a toner supply and is positioned adjacent the adjoining wall. A toner loader door encloses the receptacle and includes a first portion which mates with the cover's top surface and a second portion that abuts the adjoining wall. The first and second portions meet at point of joinder to form an L-shape. The second portion of the toner loader door is pivotally mounted to the adjoining wall and enables the toner loader door to pivot between an open position and a closed position. A sheet feed mechanism is positioned adjacent the wall and feeds sheets through the inlet opening. The sheet feed mechanism is pivotally mounted to the printer by a spring biased pivot which forces the sheet feed mechanism against the toner loader door so as to maintain it in a closed position.

  • Patent number: 5089690
Abstract: An overlay is described for a keyboard wherein the keyboard includes a plurality of convex, depressible keys that extend above openings in a panel surface, each key having an associated function indication. The overlay comprising a molded plastic, planar member sized to cover substantially the extent of the keyboard, and having both keyboard and user sides. The keyboard side exhibits a plurality of waffle-like convex chambers created by orthogonal intersecting walls, each convex chamber surrounding a corresponding key and having a resilient ceiling member positioned over the key. When the resilient ceiling member is depressed by a user, the underlying key is likewise depressed and actuated. The user side of selected ones of resilient ceiling members, indicate modified key functions.
