  • Patent number: 9650149
Abstract: An intake duct assembly for an auxiliary power unit system is provided. A first inlet adapter includes at least one hole through the duct wall. A fire containment apparatus forms a first passage to direct intake air between exterior wall of the aircraft and the enclosure. An inner duct mounted on the first inlet adapter at a first position downstream of the at least one hole and mounted on the second inlet adapter. An outer sheath is mounted on the first inlet adapter at a second position upstream of the at least one hole and mounted on the second inlet adapter. The outer sheath circumscribes the inner duct to form at least a portion of a barrier annulus between the inner duct and outer sheath in fluid communication with the first passage via the at least one hole in the first inlet adapter.

  • Patent number: 8016227
Abstract: An engine cowl door assembly is provided for fuselage mounted turbine engines to minimize manufacturing costs and part counts. In one embodiment, the engine cowl door assembly includes at least one non-handed engine cowl door, a pylon apron coupled to the fuselage of an aircraft and providing an attachment point for a first portion of the engine cowl door and a fairing coupled to the turbine engine and providing a latching point for a second portion of the engine cowl door to the turbine engine. The pylon apron, positioned on an inboard side of the turbine engine, and the fairing, positioned on an outboard side of the turbine engine, are identically shaped to provide interchangeability of the engine cowl door from a turbine engine mounted on a first side of an aircraft fuselage to a turbine engine mounted on a opposed second side of an aircraft fuselage.

  • Patent number: 5771067
Abstract: A dental video camera includes a housing which has an elongated cavity with a distal end and a proximal end, an adjustably focusing lens, a CCD camera system which is disposed within the elongated cavity of the housing, a fixed focusing lens system and an electrically adjustable iris. The adjustably focusing lens provides a focusing adjustment between a near field o:f focus and a far field of focus. The CCD camera system is optically coupled to the adjustably focusing lens and and is disposed in the elongated cavity of the housing adjacent to the distal end thereof. The electrically adjustable iris is optically coupled to the adjustably focusing lens and CCD camera system. The adjustable iris is adjusted between a nearly closed opening and a wide open opening in response to the focusing adjustment between the near field of focus and the far field of focus.
