Abstract: A method of building a three-dimensional model of a partially obstructed surface area. The method includes defining the boundary of the surface area and subsections thereof using boundary markers having a preconfigured pattern of location points. An orientation tool may be disposed in each subsection when images are captured thereof. The number and type of captured images are based on the degree of obstruction so that the acquired location and orientation data may be integrated into an internal three-dimensional model.
