  • Patent number: 8298067
Abstract: The claimed embodiments contemplate methods, systems and apparatuses directed to gaming machines that include a community spin mechanism that, when activated, causes reel displays, at two or more player stations, to spin. Certain embodiments provide for one or more community reels that are utilized to determine an outcome of a community gaming session. The community reels are “community” in that they are formed by combining reels of individual play stations in order to increase the odds, and payouts, of potential wins via various line combinations of the combined set of reels, once they stop spinning. Re-stated, by way of non-limiting example, each play station has its own set of reels and when community play is started, one or more community reels are spun along with each player's set of reels. Any potential winning combinations are then based on resulting combinations of the individual play station reels in combination with the community reels.

  • Patent number: 5394549
Abstract: An enhancement for a data processing system including a relational database provides storage of at least a first command corresponding to each of a plurality of tasks which can be automatically performed. In response to an event or conditions in the data processing system, such as an operation in the relational database, a task is selected and the first command and additional task lines are output. These lines are assembled with arguments derived from conditions or operations in the system such as arguments of the relational database operation. Additional events and system conditions may be imposed for task selection, imposing conditionality and chaining of plural tasks. Immediate execution of a selected task is accomplished by selectively inserting a first command of the task in exit code of another application executable on the data processing system. A parser is provided to select parameters and assemble the parameters with task lines as arguments thereof.
