  • Patent number: 8239197
Abstract: A system and method for efficiently transcribing verbal messages transmitted over the Internet (or other network) into text. The verbal messages are initially checked to ensure that they are in a valid format and include a return network address, and if so, are processed either as whole verbal messages or split into segments. These whole verbal messages and segments are processed by an automated speech recognition (ASR) program, which produces automatically recognized text. The automatically recognized text messages or segments are assigned to selected workbenches for manual editing and transcription, producing edited text. The segments of edited text are reassembled to produce whole edited text messages, undergo post processing to correct minor errors and output as an email, an SMS message, a file, or an input to a program. The automatically recognized text and manual edits thereof are returned as feedback to the ASR program to improve its accuracy.

  • Patent number: 8219659
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention relate to a super-node formed from a plurality of nodes in a binary tree topology network. The super-node includes a multitasking computing system having a memory, and nodes running the computing system. Each of the nodes are adapted to be docked downtree of and with another node, and are adapted to be docked uptree of and with two other nodes. A first node in the plurality of nodes is docked downtree of and with a parent node running on a first separate computing system. Each node of the plurality of nodes except the first node is docked downtree of and with another one of the plurality of nodes. In this manner, a super-node is formed having more than two sockets available for connection with nodes not running on the multitasking computing system.

  • Publication number: 20120012667
Abstract: A method of retaining only compatible refills by a volatile material dispenser includes the step of providing a dispenser having a housing and at least one movable latch disposed within the housing. The method further includes the steps of providing a compatible refill that includes a container for holding a volatile material and a wick extending from the container and inserting the refill into the housing so that the refill actuates the movable latch into engagement with a structure disposed on a neck of the refill to retain the refill within the housing. The incompatible refills are incapable of actuating the movable latch, and thus, the movable latch does not retain the incompatible refills within the housing.

  • Patent number: 7895324
Abstract: Methods for propagating a network topology model of a binary tree topology network through a network, the network including a root node and leaf nodes, networked together to provide a communications path for data, each of the nodes except the root node being docked downtree of a parent node, and each of the nodes docked uptree of a first child node and a second child node, each of the at least one leaf nodes having none of the plurality of nodes docked downtree of and therewith. Each of the leaf nodes provides a propagate network topology model message containing the address of the providing leaf node to the parent node docked uptree of and with the providing leaf node. Each node receiving the message forms a network topology model representing a path from the receiving node to each one of the plurality of nodes downtree of the receiving node.

  • Patent number: 7710787
Abstract: A method for erasing an EEPROM cell which reduces the need for monitoring algorithms. The potential at the erase gate is initially raised and the potential at the control gate is lowered to cause FN tunneling through the erase gate. A subsequent soft programming step is employed to raise the potential at the control gate to a value sufficient to cause FN tunneling to start though the oxide of the transistor. A new memory device structure suitable for practicing this method employs a transistor having a floating gate, where a data value is stored as charged on the floating gate; a control gate; a control gate capacitor coupling the control gate to the floating gate; an erase gate; an erase gate capacitor coupling the erase gate to the floating gate; and an erase control circuit.
