Arrangement with a Wheel and a Planar Cover Element for a Vehicle, Cover Element, Wheel, and Vehicle
Publication number: 20230382157Abstract: An arrangement has a wheel and a sheet-shaped cover element. The wheel has a rim, a hub and a plurality of spokes, wherein the wheel has a free space between at least every two spokes spaced apart in the circumferential direction. The free space being at least partly covered by the cover element and, on its inner edge, having a slight step on an outer side of the rim, which step extends at least in some portions along the edge. The cover element and the rim are formed and arranged relative to one another in such a way that a gap resulting in the region of the step from the arrangement of the cover element relative to the rim, following entry of a flow into the gap until exit from the gap, causes an at least two-fold deflection of the flow passing through the gap from the vehicle interior to the vehicle exterior or from the vehicle exterior to the vehicle interior.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 3, 2021Publication date: November 30, 2023Inventor: Mike SEIDEL -
Publication number: 20230382158Abstract: A cover element is suitable for attachment to a vehicle wheel having a hub, a wheel rim provided with a rim well for accommodating a tire, and wheel spokes which connect the hub to the wheel rim. The cover element is designed to cover at least one gap between two wheel spokes that adjoin one another in the circumferential direction. The outer surface of the cover element, at least in regions, is provided with at least one bistable display element, such as an e-paper display element having a display device, or is formed by at least one such element, wherein the display device can be supplied with electrical control signals via a control unit.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2021Publication date: November 30, 2023Inventors: Stella CLARKE, Benedikt FELLA, Mike SEIDEL, Claudio STRUCKMANN

Publication number: 20230331037Abstract: A cover element is adapted for attaching to a vehicle wheel having a wheel hub, a wheel rim provided with a rim base for receiving a tire, and a central body connecting the wheel hub to the wheel rim. The cover element is configured in the shape of a circular disk in order to cover the central body, is distinguished in that the outer surface of the cover element is provided at least in regions with at least one bistable display element, such as an E-paper display element, with a display device, or is formed by at least one such display element. Electric control signals can be applied to the display device via a control unit.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 5, 2021Publication date: October 19, 2023Inventors: Markus DIX, Alwin MAIWALD, Mike SEIDEL

Patent number: 9493031Abstract: A vehicle wheel has a rim and spokes supporting the rim on a hub section. A clearance is formed between two mutually adjacent spokes and is covered by a flat covering element. In this case, the covering element, which is assigned to only one such clearance, is made of a fiber-reinforced synthetic material and, on an exterior side of the wheel, is glued onto the spokes which, on their mutually facing edges, have a slight step toward the interior side of the wheel, as well as onto the hub section which, in the area of this clearance on its side facing the rim, also has such a slight step. Not all clearances between two mutually adjacent spokes of the vehicle wheel are covered in such a manner.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2012Date of Patent: November 15, 2016Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke AktiengesellschaftInventors: Stephan Dick, Mike Seidel, Veit Wuerfel

Patent number: 6755168Abstract: An automatic decompression device for an internal combustion engine includes a camshaft rotatable about an axis of rotation and having an end face, and a lever coupled to the end face and movable between a first position, wherein the lever is engageable with a valve actuating device to actuate a valve during rotation of the camshaft, and a second position, wherein the lever does not substantially move the valve actuating device. The lever is preferably pivotally coupled to the end face to pivot about a pivot axis that is substantially perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the camshaft. Further preferably, the automatic decompression device further includes a spring between the end face and the lever to bias the lever toward the first position. In a highly preferred embodiment, the end face of the camshaft includes a slot and the lever is at least partially retained within the slot.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2001Date of Patent: June 29, 2004Assignee: Harley Davidson Motor Company Group, Inc.Inventors: Andreas Schneider, Mike Seidel
