  • Patent number: 8522776
Abstract: An inhalation device comprising a base having a slot for insertion of a single blister containing a dose of medicament to be inhaled into the base is disclosed. The inhaler has a mouthpiece pivotally mounted to the base which carries a blister piercing element operable to pierce a blister received in said slot when the mouthpiece is pivoted relative to the base. When a user inhales on the mouthpiece, the dose is entrained in an airflow and flows out of the blister through the mouthpiece and into the user's airway.

  • Patent number: 8132106
Abstract: A system, apparatus, method, and computer-readable media are provided for generating a document preview. According to one method, a preview handler is provided that exposes interfaces that may be called by a host application to generate a document preview without launching the application program that created the document. The interfaces exposed by the preview handler provide a common framework that may be utilized by both operating system and application program hosts to provide document previews.

  • Publication number: 20110094510
Abstract: An inhaler comprising a housing to receive a strip having a plurality of blisters, each blister having a puncturable lid and containing a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user, a mouthpiece through which a dose of medicament is inhaled by a user, a cap to cover the mouthpiece and, a blister piercing element to pierce the lid of a blister is disclosed. The cap is rotatable to drive the strip to sequentially move each blister into alignment with the blister piercing element and an actuator is operable in response to rotation of the cap to cause the blister piercing element to puncture the lid of an aligned blister such that, when a user inhales through the mouthpiece, an airflow through the blister is generated to entrain the dose contained therein and carry it out of the blister and via the mouthpiece into the user's airway.

  • Publication number: 20030081006
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for use in a computer having a graphical operating system. The system and method provided is for automatically displaying a window in a maximized state on a screen when a certain resolution threshold is met. More specifically, the method involves determining a screen resolution and comparing the screen resolution to a resolution threshold. If the resolution is at or below the threshold, then the window to be opened is automatically rendered on the screen in a maximized state. If the resolution is above the threshold, the window is rendered on the screen at a specified size, or at a default size if no size is specified. In this way, the user is presented with only one active screen when the resolution is at or below the threshold, thereby simplifying navigation through multiple windows. Further, when the resolution is above the threshold, the window will not be maximized because the display would seem unpleasing to the eye of the user in a maximized state.

  • Patent number: 6061695
Abstract: An operating system shell provides a graphical user interface having a windowing environment with a desktop. The shell synthesizes a hypertext page for display as the desktop in the graphical user interface. The hypertext page has an embedded software object which provides graphical icon-oriented and menu-driven user interface elements for activating operating system services in the displayed hypertext page. The shell also provides windowed hypertext pages for managing file system folders. The shell synthesizes the hypertext pages from templates which can be edited to incorporate a variety of multi-media enhancements with the user interface elements in the graphical user interface. Templates can be associated with specific folders in the file system to provide folder specific hypertext pages integrated with user interface elements for managing the folder.
