    Abstract: A power station system is described. The power station system has an energy collector, an energy generator, an energy storage and an output port. A controller for the power station system is configured to determine input power based on energy collected by the energy collector and energy generated by the energy generator, to determine output power based on the energy provided to the energy output connection and to control the energy generator based on the input power and the output power. The controller can turn off the energy generator in response to the energy storage exceeding a threshold percentage of capacity. The controller may also turn on the energy generator in response to the energy storage being less than the threshold percentage of capacity.

    Abstract: A portable power charger is provided for charging a small appliance or an electronic device from a rechargeable battery internally disposed within the charger. An attachment system is also provided for connecting the electronic device to the portable charger and maintaining the connection during charging, whether by wireless or direct charging means. The attachment system ensures that respective wireless transmission components in the portable charger and the electronic device, where available, are properly aligned for optimal and efficient wireless charging. The alignment system can comprise structural feature formed in the charger housing, such as grooves or projections formed on the charger housing to physically attach the portable charger to the small appliance or the electronic device, whereby the connection can be maintained during the exchange of a charge from the portable power charger to the small appliance or electronic device.

    Abstract: A modular portable power station comprises a portable power charger that can be supplemented with battery expansion modules that can be mechanically and electrically connected, as needed, to increase power output and capacity. The power charger housing is adapted for mechanical connection to a battery expansion module. When the expansion module is mechanically connected to the charger housing, an internal battery of the expansion module is electrically connected to the internal battery of the power charger to provide a boost of additional power and capacity, which can be transferred to electronic devices in need of a charge. The expansion module includes connection means to complement the connection means on the portable power charger. Additionally, the expansion module may include further connection means, simulating the connection means of the portable power charger, so that multiple expansion modules can be connected to the portable charger, in series, at the same time.
