  • Patent number: 10145761
Abstract: A system and method are provided for equipment sound monitoring. The system includes an electromechanical device having at least one cavity defined therein. A dampening tube is such that at least a portion of the dampening tube is received within the at least one cavity without contacting a surface of the electromechanical device. A transducer box includes an opening defined therein, the opening configured to receive at least a portion of the dampening tube. The transducer box further includes a sound detection module configured to detect at least one of audio and vibration associated with the electromechanical device. A method of connecting and using the equipment sound monitoring system are provided.

  • Patent number: 9971667
Abstract: A system and method is provided for local collection of sound data from industrial equipment and comparative analysis of the data. A sound detection device includes transducers resiliently mounted to continuously collect sound signals perpendicular to the electromechanical device. A shrouding material situated between the transducers and the electromechanical device dampens physical vibration to the transducers to peak amplitude of ?0.3 microvolts, and returns the transducers to a zero-degree angle of reference from a mounting position of the sound detection device by means of elastic retention. Digital sound data is transmitted to a remote server, which analyzes the data wherein comparative models of baseline data are associated with an operative status of the electromechanical device. Variations between the collected data and the baseline data may be associated with failure or substandard operation of the electromechanical device, wherein alerts are accordingly generated to notify a respective client user.

  • Patent number: 9223299
Abstract: A system and method for comparative analysis of sound data obtained from client equipment includes a portable sound detection device with a transducer to collect sounds from equipment, convert the collected sounds into analog signals, and generate digital data files including sound data representative of the collected sounds. The data files are stored in a web-based database and remote server-based program modules aggregate data associated with the data files with previously stored and related data across a plurality of predetermined data parameters. The program executes or enables identification of outlying data points with respect to data points from the sound data, and the comparison of sound data with baseline data determined the equipment type, the location and the aggregated data. The program then executes or enables identification of data points from the sound data representative of an equipment failure, or an imminent failure thereof.
