    Abstract: A two-piece protective suit for use in hazardous environments includes a coat and trousers each of which includes an outer garment and a removable liner, the outer garment including an outer shell made of a flame protective material and an inner layer of a material which is moisture resistant and resistant to the passage of hazardous chemical and/or biological agents and liquids, the coat including a bottom closure mechanism to tighten the bottom of the coat towards the waist of a wearer and inhibit hazardous material entry in the coat from below, left and right cuff closure mechanisms to tighten the left and right cuffs towards the left and right arms of a wearer and inhibit hazardous material entry into the left and right sleeves, and a hood and neck tab which are deployable over the head and neck of a wearer and over a face mask worn by the wearer to protect the head and neck of a wear from the hazardous materials and inhibit entry into the coat through its neck opening.

    Abstract: Fire protective trousers include an outer shell and a removable liner, the outer shell having right and left front panels which extend around and behind the center sides of the outer shell and connect with respective right and left rear panels along outseams at the rear of the outer shell, thus providing more material in the front of the outer shell and reducing rubbing contact with the body of the wearer. The respective inseams curve to the rear and down to the lower edges of the rear panels. The right and left front panels also include respective upper and lower pleats that extend from the outseams toward the inseams and from the inseams toward the outseams thereof to provide extra material in the knee areas of the leg portions. The rear panels have concave lower edges to reduce dragging on the ground and the possibility of being stepped on by the wearer.

The upper portions of the thermal barrier and moisture barrier are free of one another; and the upper portion of the moisture barrier extends into the collar a substantial distance above the upper edge portion of the thermal barrier when the collar is in vertical position.

The removable liner therein includes an outer moisture barrier layer and an inner thermal layer, the inner thermal layer including right and left darts in its back portion near where its sleeve portions connect to its body portion and pleats in its sleeve portions near where they connect to its body portion.
