  • Patent number: 4536698
Abstract: The method of supplying voltage to an electrostatic precipitator, includes periodically reversing the polarity of a supply voltage; intermittently supplying voltage to the precipitator; and the supply voltage polarity being reversed during no-voltage intervals, with the reversing of polarity being delayed with respect to the beginning of the no-voltage interval.

  • Patent number: 4184042
Abstract: A multisection superconducting cable for carrying alternating current and comprising a heat insulation envelope, a superconductive shield with a stabilizing substrate and an electrical portion for carrying an electrical current and including at least one conductor assembly of two coaxial cores, one of which cores is made tubular and provided with a superconductive layer and a stabilizing substrate, another core running inside said tubular core. The stabilizing substrates of each section of the electrical portion and of the shield are formed by local segments of a stabilizing material which segments are separated by a material of a lower electrical conductivity than the stabilizing material, the resistance of the stabilizing substrates within each section being in excess of the impedance of the electrical portion of this section.

  • Patent number: 4176238
Abstract: A cooled multiphase ac cable comprising a means for protecting the cable against the effect of the axial magnetic flux, made of a superconducting material in the form of a plurality of closed conductors separately embracing the surfaces of the internal and external layers of stabilized superconducting material of the cable phases. The closed conductors embracing the surface of the external layer of stabilized superconducting material are electrically associated. The proposed multiphase cable is simple in manufacture, reliable in service and adequately protected against the effect of the axial magnetic flux.
