  • Patent number: 10168112
Abstract: A jet-flow heat exchanging device for transferring heat from or to one or more heat transfer surfaces comprises one or more orifice groups, each for directing a heat carrier medium onto the heat transfer surface with at least one of the orifice groups including a main orifice for generating a main jet-stream, and at least two control orifices associated with the main orifice and configured to generate control jet-streams for interacting with the main jet-stream, so as to cause the heat carrier medium of the main jet-stream to swirl.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 26, 2013
Date of Patent: January 1, 2019
    Assignee: Cool Technology Solutions, Inc.
    Inventors: Mikhail Spokoyny, Nick Ortenberg

  • Patent number: 8490419
Abstract: Dissipating heat and apparatus therefor from a heat dissipation surface is described. In an embodiment, first jets are streamed along the heat dissipation surface in a first direction and are spaced apart from one another. Second jets are streamed along the heat dissipation surface in a second direction at least substantially opposite the first direction and spaced apart from one another. Coolant used to provide the first jets and the second jets is exited away from the heat dissipation surface. The first jets and the second jets are offset from one another in a transverse direction with respect to the first direction and the second direction, and the first jets and the second jets pass side-by-side with respect to one another.

Date of Patent: July 23, 2013
    Assignee: United States Thermoelectric Consortium
