  • Patent number: 9725125
Abstract: A straddle-type vehicle which turns while a vehicle body is banked to a first side in a vehicle width direction around a predetermined angular displacement center, comprises a head lamp which irradiates a head lamp irradiation region set to be forward relative to the vehicle body; a first auxiliary lamp which irradiates a first auxiliary lamp irradiation region set to be forward relative to the head lamp irradiation region, in a region which is inward with respect to a turning direction; and a second auxiliary lamp which irradiates a second auxiliary lamp irradiation region set to be forward relative to the first auxiliary lamp irradiation region, in the region which is inward with respect to the turning direction, wherein a distance between the second auxiliary lamp and the angular displacement center is less than a distance between the first auxiliary lamp and the angular displacement center.

  • Patent number: 7674022
Abstract: To provide a headlight device, in which a change of the region of illumination afforded by the headlamp can be initiated substantially punctual to the start of cornering of the motorcycle, the headlight device includes a headlamp for illuminating forwardly of the motorcycle, a light-distribution adjusting mechanism for changing a region of illumination, a bank angle detecting unit for detecting a bank angle ? of the motorcycle in reference to an angular velocity ?y about a vertical axis of the motorcycle, an angular velocity ?r about a longitudinal axis of the motorcycle and a motorcycle velocity v, and a light-distribution controller for controlling the light-distribution adjusting mechanism based on the detected bank angle ? to change the region of illumination into an area further away from and at least inwardly of a direction of turn of the motorcycle during a cornering.

  • Patent number: 7628517
Abstract: To provide a vehicle headlight assembly designed to increase the productivity, the vehicle headlight assembly includes a light projecting group (34) accommodated within a casing (31) and including a plurality of light projecting units (29, 30). Each of the light projecting units (29, 30) in turn includes a light emitting element (37, 38), and a support member (40A, 40B) supported by and within the casing (31). The support members (40A, 40B) of each light projecting units (29, 30) cooperatively form a single holder (40A, 40B).

  • Publication number: 20070046453
Abstract: Disclosed is a meter mounting structure of a motorcycle realizing improvement in visibility of a meter. A meter includes a plurality of displays which are disposed in tandem in a direction of the sight line of a rider and is mounted near a handle. The meter is mounted inclined with respect to a reference plane orthogonal to the sight line such that a lower half portion of each of the displays is positioned closer to an eye point than an upper half portion thereof. Preferably, the meter is mounted such that the lower end of the display on the rear side in the direction of the sight line is disposed in almost the same position as that of the display on the front side in the direction of the sight line in the case where the meter is disposed parallel with the reference plane.
