  • Publication number: 20160191725
Abstract: A communication mode in an address book to be imported is replaced with a communication mode supporting an own apparatus and registered therein. A control method for controlling a communication apparatus that performs IP fax communication via an IP network, includes importing a destination of G3 fax communication, storing in a storage unit the destination imported as a destination of the IP fax communication to be performed via the IP network, and allowing a user to select a communication mode of the IP fax communication to be performed using the destination stored in the storage unit.

  • Publication number: 20150288854
Abstract: An image communication apparatus enables a sender to easily measure timing of pressing down a FAX transmission start button even in the case of manual transmission. When destination information about another image communication apparatus inputted by a user is transmitted to the image communication apparatus via a connected handset, a session for media type “audio” is established between the two to start an in-band transmission by a second communication unit. When receiving the audio signal from another image communication apparatus after establishment of the session, sound generated from the received audio signal is controlled to be output to the handset to urge the user to start FAX transmission, but when receiving an INVITE message with a media type “image” or “application” from another image communication apparatus instead of receiving the audio signal, after the establishment of the session, a notification urging the user to start FAX transmission is made.

  • Patent number: 8700935
Abstract: An information processing apparatus, when a shift condition for shifting a power state of the information processing apparatus to a power-saving state is satisfied, performs control to reduce power supply to a mirroring control unit and a plurality of storage units. Even when the shift condition has been satisfied, in a case that rebuild operation for the plurality of storage units is in progress, the information processing apparatus does not perform control to reduce power supply to the mirroring control unit and the plurality of storage units.

  • Publication number: 20120327466
Abstract: A communication apparatus that accurately measure a time period T0 required for line connection in IPFAX, and optimizes the timing with which a T.38 CNG command is sent out. An AT command that is a dial request is converted into a SIP command that is a session-establishment request, and the SIP command is sent. When there is a provisional response or a session-establishment response to the sent SIP command, a T0 timer which clocks the time period T0 is caused to start counting.

  • Patent number: 8164771
Abstract: An image processing system includes a host computer which generates print data and a printer which prints an image based on the print data. The host computer sets attribute information which indicates a part of the print data which is allowed to be visualized and a part of the print data which is prohibited to be visualized. In addition, the host computer also sets authentication information required for reading the part prohibited to be visualized, and transmits the print data, the attribute information, and the authentication information to the printer. The printer prints a visual image of the part allowed to be visualized on a paper medium provided with an RFID chip and stores the part prohibited to be visualized in the RFID chip. In addition, the printer prints the information stored in the RFID chip on another paper medium as a visual image after authentication with the authentication information.
