  • Publication number: 20150218043
Abstract: [Problem] When heating a glass gob of glass which crystallizes easily to a temperature at which press-molding is possible, there are many cases in which the surface of the glass gob crystallizes and hardens. The problem of surface crystallization of glass gobs when press-molding is particularly prominent with glass to be polished and subjected to press-molding at a high temperature. [Solution] This method for producing a glass molded article includes a step (A) for covering the surface of a glass gob with a covering agent, and a step (B) for heating, softening and molding the glass gob covered by the covering agent. Therein, the covering agent contains components which melts at a temperature equal to or lower than the melting point of the glass configuring the glass gob.
