  • Patent number: 5323139
Abstract: An antitheft system, for car stereo having a detachable grille, has an identification resistor provided in the body of the car stereo, and a resistor provided in the grille. A circuit including the identification resistor and the resistor in the grille is formed when the grille is attached to the body of the car stereo. A voltage across the identification resistor is compared with a reference voltage for producing a coincident signal when the voltage is equal to the reference. In response to the coincident signal, the car stereo becomes operative.

  • Patent number: 5216904
Abstract: An engaging plate is provided on a handle, and a lock lever is provided to be engaged with a hook of the engaging plate. A spring is provided to urge the lock lever so as to engage the lock lever with the hook to lock the handle. The handle is released by a slide plate provided to be engaged with the lock lever. A pushbutton is fixed to the slide plate for pushing the slide plate. When the slide plate is pushed, the lock lever is rotated to release the lock lever from the hook.

  • Patent number: 4794476
Abstract: A starting mechanism for an ejection mechanism of a cassette tape deck, particularly, a compact cassette deck which may be used for automotive applications and which is automatically operated in response to stopping of rotation of a reel unit of the cassette deck. A power lever is mounted to be reciprocal in a predetermined direction by a reel unit drive motor of the deck when the reel unit stops rotating. A selection lever, having an operator-actuable end, is juxtaposed with the power lever and movable reciprocally in the same predetermined direction to engage the power lever to move therewith when a head base of the deck is in an advanced position. Thereby, the selection lever is reciprocal between positions of engagement and disengagement with and from the power lever with one end thereof as the center.

  • Patent number: 4689701
Abstract: A cassette loading mechanism for a cassette deck which contributes to the compactness of the deck. The loading mechanism includes a movable member which engages a cassette and which is movably mounted to slide in directions in which the cassette is inserted and ejected. The movable member is biased in the ejecting direction. A cassette holder is movable between a raised position where the inserted cassette is held and a lowered position where the cassette as held is set in a play position, the cassette holder being biased in the direction of the lowered position. A control arm, which is rotatably mounted on a frame, controls the movement of the cassette holder towards the lowered position. A lock arm, rotatably mounted on the control arm, locks the movable member when the movable member is moved a predetermined distance in the insertion direction of the cassette. A single biasing device biases the control arm in a control direction and the lock arm in a locking direction.

  • Patent number: 4442466
Abstract: A head drive mechanism for a cassette deck includes a reciprocating member driven when the reels are halted and a lever member for driving the head. Connecting these two members is an operating mechanism, which may include a lever member and an elastic member for elastic connection. The head is locked after it advances a certain distance, and is then unlocked to move quickly to the forward position to contact the tape.

  • Patent number: 4214283
Abstract: A drive mechanism for cassette tape recorders is disclosed wherein first and second reel bases are rotated in opposite tape take-up directions to pull in the slack of a tape after a cassette is loaded and an electrical power is turned on. After the tape slack is removed, a drive and transmission mechanism is changed into a playback state. A detector is employed to detect the stoppage of tape run as a result of pulling in the tape slack to actuate release means which selectively disconnects one of two transmission means to first and second reel bases from a drive unit.

  • Patent number: 4210944
Abstract: A tape stop detection mechanism for cassette tape recorders is disclosed. The tape recorder includes two reel bases driven by a suitable drive and two reel shafts mounted in a usual slip-drive manner on the reel bases. Two slip plates are provided about the reel shafts so as to be displaced upon rotation of the reel shafts, a detection lever is connected at either end with said slip plates so that the lever is also displaced when at least one of the reel shafts is rotated, and cam means is provided which cooperates with the detection lever only when the lever is restored as a result of stoppage of the reel shafts. In response to the cooperation of the cam means with the detection lever, the rotation of the reel bases is interrupted or the rotating direction of a given reel base is reversed.
