  • Publication number: 20050289091
Abstract: An action transmission system, terminal apparatus, action transmission method, and action transmission program are provided. The present invention provides an action transmission system including a first terminal apparatus for detecting a physical variation applied by a first user and a second terminal apparatus for outputting information to a second user as the physical variation. The first terminal apparatus transmits, to the second terminal apparatus, variation information indicative of a variation in physical quantity and intensity information subjectively set by the first user for the physical quantity by use of the physical variation applied by the first user. The second terminal apparatus receives the variation information and the intensity information from the first terminal apparatus, amplifies the received variation information by an amplification factor subjectively set by the second user to the intensity information, and outputs the amplified variation information as a physical variation.

  • Publication number: 20050149467
Abstract: The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, a program, and a storage medium, capable of identifying emotion/state of a user from undefined information such as vital sign information by using an information processing apparatus. Pulse information and body motion information of a user are acquired via an input unit 91. A feature extractor 112 generates feature vectors associated with pulse information and body motion information. A learning unit 94 identifies the emotion/state of the user by comparing the generated feature vectors with feature vectors accumulated in a storage unit 95. Information indicating the resultant identified emotion/state of the user is output to an output unit 92 via an output controller 114.

  • Patent number: 6785406
Abstract: An iris authentication apparatus performs authentication based on data generated from a human iris in which camera section and a signal processing section detect an iris state in the form of data. By using a database section, an iris data processing section detects whether the iris state is in a living body state. When the iris data processing section has detected that the iris state is in a living body state, it is judged that the detected data is effective. In this manner, the iris authentication apparatus can reliably prevent a third person from being authenticated by pretending to be a registered person by forging an iris pattern that is a non-living-body iris.

  • Publication number: 20040013398
Abstract: The present invention is relative with a reproducing apparatus and a receiving apparatus for affording the impression or evaluation in line with the intention of a content supplier to the audience. The reproducing apparatus reproduces an optical disc (1) in which the contents and the estimated evaluation values are recorded at the outset. The estimated evaluation values recorded on the optical disc (1) have been set by the content supplier based on estimated impression or evaluation by the audience on the content. As the reproducing apparatus reproduces the content, the apparatus measures the reaction of the audience by a reaction value inputting unit (61), calculates the impression or evaluation by the audience for the content by a recognition evaluation value calculating unit (63) and compares the recognized evaluation values to the estimated evaluation values read out from the optical disc (1) in a control evaluation value calculating unit (53).

Abstract: The invention includes an image processing unit in an image display apparatus. The image processing unit includes a setting unit comprising controls that are configured to be set to an acceptable level. The acceptable level is a function of at least one affecting factor that affects a biological unit. The image processing unit also includes a converting unit coupled to the setting unit. The converting unit is configured to receive input image information and an extracted value. The extracted value is a function of the input image information. The converting unit further includes components that process the input image information, the extracted value, and the acceptable level to produce a display signal.

  • Patent number: 6096587
Abstract: A manufacturing method of a junction field effect transistor, promising a low ON resistance, high maximum drain current and linearity with a high transmission gain and also enabling the gate length to be reduced, makes a channel layer by sequentially epitaxially growing an undoped GaAs layer, n.sup.+ -type GaAs layer and n-type GaAs layer on a semi-insulating GaAs substrate via a GaAs buffer layer. Through an opening formed in a diffusion mask in form of a SiN.sub.x film on the n-type GaAs layer, Zn is diffused into the n-type GaAs layer to form a p.sup.+ -type gate region. From above the diffusion mask, a gate metal layer is deposited, and patterned to make a gate electrode in the opening of the diffusion mask in self-alignment with the p.sup.+ -type gate region.

  • Patent number: 5234849
Abstract: A high electron mobility field effect transistor (HEMT) inhibiting generation of leakage current otherwise caused by contact of a gate metallization layer with a channel layer, in which a GaInAs layer acting as a channel layer and an n-AlInAs layer acting as an electron supplying layer are stacked on a semi-insulating InP wafer with an AlInAs layer acting as a buffer layer in-between to form an island-shaped region, contact between the lateral wall surface of the island-shaped region and the gate metallization layer is to be inhibited. Specifically, the gate metallization layer is Schottky-connected in a planar state on a gate-forming surface provided by the upper surface of the n-AlInAs layer and is formed with an elevation overlying the gate-forming surface from the outer end of the gate-forming surface to outside.
