  • Patent number: 6980329
Abstract: The image processing equipment produces an image of enhanced quality, having dots with higher density than in an original image, by collating an original image with templates. The present invention reduces required number of templates. Original image data in a collation window is either mirror-converted, flip-converted or flip-and-mirror-converted in an array converter (33) and selected on a time-division basis to collate with a single template pattern (34). The effect is equivalent to the collation with maximum four templates. Thus the number of template patterns to be prepared is greatly reduced. Also, by preparing additional patterns to be stored into an area that became vacant attributed to the reduction of patterns, more sophisticated image enhancement may be attained.

  • Patent number: 6925111
Abstract: In data communication among a plurality of component units in an apparatus, transition state information corresponding to a state transition which has occurred in a sending side unit is sent to a receiving side unit in serial communication. In the receiving side unit, a state control signal is regenerated at the time when a given delay time has elapsed from the occurrence time of the state transition. Therefore, the state control signal can be sent in serial communication without any time skew. Also, in serial communication between the sending side unit and the receiving side unit, even if a control command signal is to be sent, in addition to the state control signal, a transition state information can be identified from the received signal, by means of adding identification information to the sending information.

  • Patent number: 5887125
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of image bearing members bearing latent images, image forming units for forming the latent images on the image bearing members, developing units for developing the latent images on the image bearing members, a transport belt for transporting a transfer member on which images of different colors developed by the developing units are successively transferred as the transfer member is transported, and image pickup elements, arranged obliquely to a main scan direction of the image forming units and located on a downstream of a most downstream one of the image bearing members along a direction in which the transport belt transports the transfer member. The image pickup elements detect as image information transmitted or reflected light quantity distributions of regions which include marks transferred on the transport belt from the image bearing members.

  • Patent number: 5258930
Abstract: A device for diagnosing wear on the sliding surface of a piston ring (07a) on a piston (01) which is reciprocating inside a cylinder (02), as applied in diesel engines and compressors, etc. A through-hole (103) is bored in the cylinder wall (02) to extend from the exterior to the interior, and an electric displacement sensor (100) such as, for example, an eddy current type displacement sensor, is inserted into the through-hole inwardly toward the cylinder. The displacement sensor is utilized to measure a difference in an amount of wear between one piston ring (07a) coated with a wear resistant material (102) and another piston ring (07b, 07c, 07d) without wear resistant material coated thereon, and its initial data and data to be collected after use are computed (114), permitting an operator to diagnose the wear on the piston rings based on the change in thickness of the wear resistant material in use.

  • Patent number: 3990990
Abstract: A method for preventing adhesion of rubber or rubber-like material to adjacent surfaces comprises treating a surface of rubber or rubber-like material with an aqueous solution of at least one water soluble aromatic compound having at least one --SO.sub.2 -- group. A surface active agent may be included coexistently in the aqueous solution.
