  • Publication number: 20140204221
Abstract: Improved systems and techniques for calibrating an electronic imaging module are described. An electronic imaging module is subjected to a stimulus and properties of the stimulus are measured. Calibration data associated with the electronic imaging module is stored. The calibration data comprises calibration data indicative of a response of the electronic imaging module to the stimulus, as well as calibration data indicative of the measured properties of the stimulus.

  • Patent number: 8547440
Abstract: In one exemplary embodiment, a method includes: capturing, by a camera, first image data for at least one first image, where the first image data is captured with an optical image stabilizer of the camera deactivated; capturing, by the camera, second image data for at least one second image, where the second image data is captured with the optical image stabilizer of the camera activated; obtaining an optical image stabilizer correction based on a comparison between the first image data and the second image data; and applying the optical image stabilizer correction to the second image data in order to correct at least one effect of the optical image stabilizer on the second image data.

  • Patent number: 8446484
Abstract: Disclosed is an image signal processing chain or functionality having an image data scaler. A method includes receiving a stream of image data having a first resolution; scaling the received stream of image data using a substantially freely configurable downscaling ratio to generate scaled image data having a second resolution that is less than the first resolution; outputting the scaled image data to at least one of a viewfinder image signal processing functionality or a video image signal processing functionality to create image data for at least one of display to a user or provide to a video encoder; and during at least one of receiving, scaling or outputting, simultaneously storing the stream or a subset of the stream of image data having the first resolution into a memory as a set of frames of image data for being processed as needed.

  • Publication number: 20120002958
Abstract: In accordance with an example embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a housing, a first camera, and a second camera. The first camera is connected to the housing. The second camera has a movable lens. The second camera is connected to the housing. The second camera is proximate the first camera. The movable lens is configured to move from a first position to a second position. A field of view of the second camera corresponds to a field of view of the first camera when the movable lens is moved from the first position to the second position.

  • Publication number: 20100225779
Abstract: The battery power consumption in a camera is adjustable based on the level of camera activity determined from formation on scene changes. Information can be gathered from statistical data on auto-white balance, auto-exposure and auto-focusing calculations, or from scene movement and camera movement. When the activity level is low, the viewfinder frame rate can be reduced, the accuracy of analog-to-digital conversion in the camera can be reduced, and the entire camera operation can be slowed down.
