Publication number: 20240101390Abstract: The invention relates to an elevator drive unit for managing a regenerative power of an elevator system. The elevator drive unit comprises: first terminals for connecting the elevator drive unit to the mains; second terminals for connecting the elevator drive unit to an elevator hoisting motor; a frequency converter for enabling a bidirectional transfer of power between the mains and the elevator hoisting motor; and a control unit. The control unit is configured to: obtain an indication representing a detection of a special operational situation of the elevator system, introduce a non-zero power limit specific to the detected special operational situation of the elevator system, and control the frequency converter to limit supply of the regenerative power from the elevator hoisting motor to the mains to the power limit. The invention relates also to an elevator system and a method for managing a regenerative power of an elevator system.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 8, 2023Publication date: March 28, 2024Applicant: KONE CorporationInventors: Tuukka KAUPPINEN, Mikko PAAKKINEN, Risto JOKINEN, Perttu KAIPIA

Publication number: 20230264520Abstract: A tread block arrangement is for a tire or for a tread band for a tire. The tread block arrangement includes a tread block having at least a first sipe delimited by a first sipe wall, a second sipe wall and a bottom of the sipe. The first sipe wall and the second sipe wall are arranged parallel to each other and define a width (w) of the sipe. At least the first sipe wall has at least one inclined section in which a width of a surface of the first sipe wall in a longitudinal direction of the sipe and the width of the sipe increases towards the bottom of the sipe.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 22, 2023Publication date: August 24, 2023Inventor: Mikko JOKINEN

Publication number: 20230131314Abstract: A tread block arrangement is suitable for a tire or for a tread band for a tire. The tread block arrangement includes a tread block having a first sipe delimited by a first sipe wall, a second sipe wall and a bottom of the sipe. The first sipe wall and the second sipe wall are arranged parallel to each other and define a width of the sipe. At least the first sipe wall has an indentation to increase an empty volume of the sipe at the location of the indentation. The first sipe wall has an inclined section to form the indentation, wherein a distance between the first sipe wall and the second sipe wall increases towards the bottom of the sipe at the location of the inclined section. A tire has the tread block arrangement and a lamella plate for forming sipes of the tread block arrangement.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 4, 2022Publication date: April 27, 2023Applicant: Nokian Renkaat OyjInventor: Mikko JOKINEN

Publication number: 20220194136Abstract: A tread block arrangement of a tread band or tire forms a tread for rolling contact against a ground surface. The tread block arrangement limits a first number of sipes, with a second number of transversal sipes of which a third number of sipes form a group. For each sipe of the group, the tread block arrangement forms a bottom, first sidewall, second sidewall, and first end wall. The end first end wall of each group sipe is configured such that a distance between the first end wall and a pneumatic tire outer side is less than a distance between the other end and outer side. A sipe first end wall part has a first surface normal of the sipe. The first surface forms a sipe/tread angle?20 degrees. The second number/first number ratio is ?75% and the third number/second number ratio is ?20%.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2022Publication date: June 23, 2022Applicant: Nokian Renkaat OyjInventors: Mikko Jokinen, Teemu Venäläinen

Patent number: 11298981Abstract: The invention relates to a tread block arrangement of a tread band or a tire. The tread block arrangement forms a tread that is meant for a rolling contact against a ground surface, wherein the tread is provided with at least one longitudinal groove. The tread block arrangement limits a first number (NT) of sipes, of which a second number (NTT) are transversal sipes of which a third number (N) of sipes form a group. For each sipe of the group, the tread block arrangement forms a bottom a first sidewall, a second sidewall, and a first end wall. The end first end wall of each sipe of the group is configured such that a distance between the first end wall of the sipe in question and an outer side of the pneumatic tire or the tread band is less than a distance between the other end of the sipe in question and the outer side.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2019Date of Patent: April 12, 2022Assignee: Nokian Renkaat OyjInventors: Mikko Jokinen, Teemu Venäläinen

Patent number: 6209812Abstract: An apparatus for improving the pulping characteristics of wood chips. Several chip compressors are used to treat the wood chips in the desired manner.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 1999Date of Patent: April 3, 2001Assignee: BMH Wood Technology OyInventor: Mikko Jokinen

Patent number: 5377848Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for separating finer and coarser material fractions of bulk material from each other, especially for separating sawdust from wood chips, the apparatus comprising a plurality of successive rollers (2) rotating about parallel axes of rotation, the upper surfaces of the rollers providing a path for the material to be screened; and a hopper for feeding the material to be screened to the infeed end of the path. There are radial and essentially axial grooves (5, 6) on the surface of the rollers (2), the grooves forming teeth (7) onto the surface of the rollers (2), and the teeth (7) of each roller (2) interdigitate with the radial grooves (5) of the adjacent roller (2), whereby the teeth (7) and radial grooves (5) form slots (8) between them for the particles of the material to be screened. With this construction it is possible to prevent the particles that are bigger than the grain size desired from passing through the screen.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 1993Date of Patent: January 3, 1995Assignee: Consilium Bulk Babcock OyInventors: Mikko Jokinen, Timo Kurki
