  • Patent number: 6130291
Abstract: A dynamic star polymer contains a plurality of at least three substantially identical block copolymers, each block copolymer including an aromatic polymer moiety having a glass transition temperature of at least about 95.degree. C., and an aliphatic polymer moiety incompatible with the aromatic polymer moiety. The aromatic moieties of each of the formed block copolymers aggregate to form a chemically uncrosslinked core, while the aliphatic polymer moieties radiate outwardly from the core. The multi-arm star polymer is uniquely capable of changing its molecular structure under external influences, and the core thereof preferably exhibits thermoplastic characteristics.

  • Patent number: 5324523
Abstract: Controlled release pharmaceutical preparations are prepared by homogenizing an organic or inorganic pharmaceutical active substance such as an opium alkaloid or its salts, an opium antagonist or its salts, an aliphatic or aromatic amine derivative or its salts, a phenolate type medicament, or Zn, Fe, Mg, K, Na salts, a fatty acid or its salt necessary to achieve a continuous phase transfer and an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer and formulating the resulting homogeneous mixture bya) direct compressing orb) admixing with a solvent orc) using a second, auxiliary polymer. The preparations are suitable for oral or rectal administration or for tissue implantation.

  • Patent number: 4914166
Abstract: A non-fouling economical liquid cooled cryogenic polymerization process is disclosed for essentially olefinic monomers. The heat of cooling and polymerization is removed by evaporation of the liquid nitrogen and the nitrogen vapors eliminate the need for moisture traps and drying agents to block the in flow of said moisture.
