  • Patent number: 12264899
Abstract: An anchor for use in an entangling projectile includes a head segment and a tail segment, the segments being positionable relative to one another in at least a first, primary configuration and a second, displaced configuration. A shank segment is intermediate the head segment and tail segment and a biasing element is associated with one or more of the head, tail and shank segments and is operable to apply a restorative force to one or both of the head segment and the tail segment. The restorative force tends to return the respective segments into the primary configuration after being moved into the displaced configuration. One or more hook segments are carried by the head portion and are operable to engage the person of a subject about which the entangling projectile has been deployed.

  • Patent number: 12235080
Abstract: A cassette for deploying one or more entangling projectiles includes a pair of sockets, each socket being in fluid communication with a pressure source. An entangling projectile includes a pair of anchors connected by a tether, each of the pair of anchors being positionable within one of the sockets and the tether being carried by the cassette. Each socket carries a slidable piston positionable in a respective socket between an entangling projectile and the pressure source such that each slidable piston is propelled along a respective socket in response to a pressure wave generated by the pressure source to thereby expel the anchor from the socket. Each of a pair of retaining clips is engageable with an anchor and with a socket to aid in retaining the respective anchor in the respective socket prior to generation of the pressure wave.

  • Patent number: 12228371
Abstract: A projectile launcher device and associated optical beam generating system includes a body having at least two sockets, each socket carrying a projectile. A power source is capable of expelling each projectile from the launcher into a projectile plane. An optical beam generating system is capable of generating a beam array. The beam array includes at least two distinct pattern beams that divergently extend from the launcher at a non-zero angle relative to one another, and a void region formed between the at least two pattern beams, the void region being devoid of any portion of the optical beam.

  • Patent number: 12173990
Abstract: A conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”) impedes locomotion of a human target by providing a stimulus signal through the target via one or more electrodes. A propulsion system provides a force that launches the one or more electrodes toward the target to deliver the stimulus signal. The electrodes may be mechanically and electrically coupled to a deployment unit by a filament. An electrode may cooperate with a winding machine to wind the filament into a winding. The winding may be positioned inside the body of the electrode for deployment during launch.

  • Patent number: 12013214
Abstract: A deployment unit for use with a handle of a conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”). The deployment unit includes wire-tethered electrodes for launching toward a human or animal target for providing a current through the target to impede locomotion of the target. The deployment unit includes a barrier that prior to use with the handle protects the deployment unit from electrostatic discharge. Prior to use of the deployment unit, the barrier may further protect the deployment unit from ingress of dirt and/or moisture into the deployment unit. While the deployment unit is inserted into a handle, the barrier shields conductors of the handle and the deployment unit to facilitate delivery of a launch signal from the handle to the deployment unit to launch the wire-tethered electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20240127853
Abstract: A primary subsystem captures original information and supplemental information to form a revision. A primary subsystem enables revisions to be made at the location of the incident prior to leaving the location. Systems for collecting and managing information about incidents include primary and secondary subsystems. A category is a descriptor or label that identifies a common aspect among members assigned to the category. Categories may determine how information is stored, communicated, and/or accessed on primary and/or secondary subsystems.

A pair of independently activable pressure sources are each capable of generating a pressure wave capable of expelling one of the anchors from one of the sockets to deploy the entangling projectile from the projectile casing toward a subject. At least one controller is operable to activate one or both of the pressure sources. Each pressure source is independently activatable at differing times so as to deploy the anchors from the projectile casing at differing times.
