  • Patent number: 11064226
Abstract: A system and method for concurrently streaming audio and video data in different qualities through a single input signal is provided. Audio and video data are captured for monitoring at a selectable rate set by a remote computing device. The captured A/V data is stored in a local memory as a local data stream with a high definition and may be streamed locally at a high rate. Simultaneously, the captured A/V data is manipulated in different (lower) quality for transmission as a remote data stream based on remote instructions. The local data stream is also streamed to the remote computing device.

  • Patent number: 10803299
Abstract: A system and method for capturing images and reconstructing full images based on the captured image for identification. An image captured by streamed video is used to identify an image of an individual based on facial recognition algorithms. Features of the individual's face image are identified and used for determining measurement and alignment of the individual face image. Based on the measurement and alignment of the individual face image, further facial images of the individual are extrapolated and reconstructed. The reconstructed facial images of the individuals are compared with facial data stored in a database and the identification of the individual is performed.

Abstract: A system and method for concurrently streaming audio and video data in different qualities through a single input signal is provided. Audio and video data are captured for monitoring. The captured A/V data is stored in a local memory as a local data stream with a high definition. The local data stream is locally accessible for users. Simultaneously, the captured A/V data is manipulated in different quality as a remote data stream based on remote instructions and transmitted to a remote location for streaming through a remote computing device. The local data stream is also streamed to the remote computing device. Thus, two data streams are concurrently transmitted from a single input signal via two different signal channels.

  • Patent number: 9508269
Abstract: A method of providing assistance from an assistant to a user, wherein the user and the assistant are remote from each other, includes obtaining an image of an area adjacent the user, transmitting the image from the user to the assistant, and displaying the image on a display to the assistant. The method also includes transmitting a message generated by the assistant relating to the image from the assistant to the user and audibly outputting the message to the user.

  • Patent number: 9201143
Abstract: A navigation system helps users navigate through an environment by a plurality of sensors. The sensors include one or both of short and long range sensors that detect objects within the user's environment. Information obtained from the sensors' detection of objects within the user's environment can be used to help the user avoid colliding with objects within the environment and help navigate the user to a destination. The navigation system may provide the user with audible feedback regarding the objects with the user's environment and/or instructions regarding how to avoid colliding with an object and how to navigate to a destination.

  • Publication number: 20150103177
Abstract: A scout system having a wearable article with a camera coupled to a remote handset device such that captured video data is compressed prior to transmission to the remotely coupled handset device. Having a wired transmission channel between a wearable article with a camera allows a user to wear the video capture device, such as sunglasses, on the user's head, while the remote handset device, which may be better suited for transmitting captured video data to a remote computer via a wireless communication channel, can be stored in a pocket or the like. Further, the wearable article includes a video compression block such that the bandwidth of video data transmitted to the remote handset is kept to a manageable level. Further, both the wearable article and the handset may have separate batteries, processors, and processing blocks so as to more evenly distribute the time-consuming and power-consuming aspects of recording and transmitting video data in real time.

  • Publication number: 20130155245
Abstract: A communications system that provides two-way communication between a monitoring user and at least one scout is disclosed. With a camera, the scout gathers one or more images of an area that is immediate to the scout but remote from the monitoring user, and these images are communicated to the monitoring user. The monitoring user also communicates information to the scout.

  • Patent number: 8270616
Abstract: A combination of techniques for modifying sound provided to headphones to simulate a surround-sound speaker environment with listener adjustments. In one embodiment, Head Related Transfer Functions (HRTFs) are grouped into multiple groups, with four types of HRTF filters or other perceptual models being used and selectable by a user. Alternately, a custom filter or perceptual model can be generated from measurements of the user's body, such as optical or acoustic measurements of the user's head, shoulders and pinna. Also, the user can select a speaker type, as well as other adjustments, such as head size and amount of wall reflections.

  • Publication number: 20080298613
Abstract: A wireless headset has a pair of earpieces, each with a speaker or driver, and a microphone that is supported by one of the earpieces. The headset operates in wireless communication with an audio source, such as a personal audio player, and a mobile telephone. The wireless headset provides automatic cut-off of the driver in the earpiece supporting the microphone whenever the microphone is activated, thereby to prevent feedback between the microphone and the driver in the supporting earpiece.

  • Publication number: 20070003095
Abstract: A porous solid windscreen formed of metal, plastic or the like covers the microphone without the need for the familiar large foam ball of material over the microphone. In a disclosed embodiment, the windscreen is a monolithic structure formed by sintering the material so as to produce a relatively consistent and desired sized pore structure. The wind screen is preferably sintered while in a mold, thereby allowing it to be formed in a variety of form factors including substantially arcuate structures or non-symmetrical structures and the like to accommodate desired aesthetic and/or acoustic needs.
