  • Patent number: 10192023
Abstract: A system includes a display and a processor. The processor is configured to receive a first computer-aided design (CAD) model representing at least one part of a machine, receive a second CAD model representing the at least one part of the machine, and identify one or more differences between the first CAD model and the second CAD model. The processor is also configured to populate a discrepancy list including the one or more differences between the first CAD model and the second CAD model, receive an input to review the discrepancy list, and display a visualization having the discrepancy list via the display upon receipt of the input.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 9, 2017
Date of Patent: January 29, 2019
    Assignee: General Electric Company

  • Publication number: 20180318899
Abstract: Systems and methods for enhanced pipe-bending are provided. In one embodiment, a method includes: receiving, via a processor, a piping CAD model. One or more bends of the piping CAD model are identified. Relevant bending information for each bend of the one or more bends is calculated. The relevant bending information is aggregated as relevant bending information is calculated for each bend. The relevant information is formatted into a readable format and is provided to a pipe-bending manufacturer.

  • Publication number: 20180268614
Abstract: A method includes presenting a computer-aided design (CAD) model via a graphical-user-interface (GUI) on a display, in a first orientation view; presenting one or more PMI objects oriented towards a first normal vector associated with the first orientation view, having a first orientation; identifying a second orientation view of the CAD model; calculating a second normal vector associated with the second orientation view; identifying the one or more PMI objects oriented towards the first normal vector; and orienting the identified one or more PMI objects towards the second normal vector, such that the identified one or more PMI objects are aligned in the second orientation view, having a second orientation.
