    Abstract: A one-piece protective garment of the type affording barrier and thermal protection against hot and/or corrosive liquids. The garment includes a generally continuous outer shell of woven aramid fabric covered by a liquid impervious layer and a corresponding inner multilayer thermally insulating liner inside of the outer shell. The inner liner is fabricated from at least one layer of low density nonwoven fabric fastened to a woven fabric. An elongated leg inseam opening is provided on the underside of the torso portion of the liner fabric and which extends from the position of the wearer's crotch downwardly into and along the inside of each leg. The garment also has an underarm inseam opening under and partially around each arm of the liner extending upwardly from the position of the wearer's armpit along the front and back seam between the sleeve and the torso portion of the inner liner.

    Abstract: In accordance with the invention, a sleeve-glove attachment assembly is provided for protective coveralls for use in protecting the wearer in a hazardous environment. The coveralls include torso, leg and sleeve portions with each sleeve having a forearm portion terminating at a wrist opening. The coveralls also include a glove with a cuff. The sleeve-glove attachment assembly includes an inner sleeve attached at an attachment location on the interior of the forearm of the sleeve which extends toward and terminates adjacent the wrist opening. Complementary hook and loop fastening tapes on the outside of the inner sleeve and the inside of the cuff serve to attach the glove to the inner sleeve. A slit-like opening in the sleeve of the coveralls extends into the sleeve from the wrist opening and terminates proximate the attachment location of the inner liner. A zipper is provided for closing the slit-like opening. A closable slit-like cuff opening is also provided in said cuff of said glove.

    Abstract: In accordance with the invention, protective coveralls are provided which are easy to put on and take off. The coveralls include a one-piece main suit with arm and leg portions connected to a torso portion having shoulder areas and a neck opening. The main suit includes a slit-like opening extending downwardly from the neck opening adjacent the uppermost area of one shoulder diagonally across the front of the torso portion to the opposite upper leg. A zipper is provided for closing the slit-like opening and an elongate flap is attached to the main suit along and adjacent to the zipper at one side of the opening to cover the zipper. Complementary hook and loop fastening tapes having a width at least 2 cm wide are used for securing the flap to the suit covering the zipper. The coveralls also have an unattached extension of the elongate flap which overlaps further over the opposite side of the opening with the unattached extension being unattached from the main suit along a predominant portion of its length.

    Abstract: In accordance with the invention, there is provided a protective glove for use with protective coveralls of the type having an outer shell fabric of woven aramid fabric covered by a liquid impervious layer and an inner, multilayer thermally insulating liner fabric of at least one layer of low density nonwoven fabric fastened to a woven fabric. The protective glove includes an outer glove fabricated by sewing from the outer shell fabric of the coveralls. A liner glove is provided within the outer glove and is fabricated by sewing from the multilayer liner fabric of the coveralls. The inner and outer gloves are attached together at the cuffs but is otherwise unattached to the outer glove. The protective glove also includes a continuous intermediate glove fabricated from a waterproof breathable expanded polymeric membrane which is provided between the outer glove and the inner glove.

An elongated leg inseam opening is provided on the underside of the torso portion of said liner fabric and which extends from position of the wearer's crotch downwardly into and along the inside of each leg.
