  • Publication number: 20160095331
Abstract: Colored wax compositions comprising a multiplicity of colored wax particles comprising at least one wax, at least one colorant and at least one emulsifier, wherein the colored wax particles are made by heating the at least one wax, the at least one colorant and the at least one emulsifier together, solidifying the melted colored wax composition and then forming particles from the solidified colored wax composition, the resultant colored wax particles having an average particle size of at least 200 microns that provide a speckled appearance when applied to the surface of a confectionery composition. In particularly, the present disclosure relates to coated confectionery compositions such as chewing gum compositions having a speckled appearance when this colored wax composition is applied as a coating to a confectionery composition as well as to methods for making colored wax coated confectionery compositions such as chewing gum pellets.

  • Patent number: 7608312
Abstract: A printed antifog packaging film incorporates a cured reactive ink system or a cured reactive varnish system. The reactive ink system includes a radiation-cured ink or a cured thermoset ink. The reactive varnish system includes a radiation-cured varnish or a cured thermoset varnish. The cured reactive ink or varnish reduces the tendency of the antifog film to form a ghost condensate image of the printed image after the film has been unwound from a roll form and subjected to conditions that form moisture condensation on the film.

  • Patent number: 6997319
Abstract: The invention is a thermoplastic film having a heat resistant coating. The film is particularly useful in the preparation of bags and associated packaging systems that are used for protecting and packaging articles. Typically, the heat resistant coating has a melting range that is greater than the melting temperature of the thermoplastic film and exceeds the temperature of the heat generated during foam formation. As such, packaging films and bags that are prepared in accordance with the invention help prevent foam-in-bag cushions from fusing together. Particularly useful heat resistant coatings include ink varnishes and resins that are solvent-based, water-based, or energy cured.

  • Patent number: 6677014
Abstract: A printed antifog packaging film incorporates one or more organic acid esters of cellulose to reduce the tendency of the film to form a ghost condensate image of the printed image after the film has been unwound from a roll form and subjected to conditions that form moisture condensation on the film. The organic acid ester of cellulose may be incorporated in the ink that forms the printed image or may be incorporated in an overprint varnish covering the printed image.
