  • Patent number: 5522401
Abstract: A stomach muscle monitoring/warning device includes a belt housing with a slide plate that moves a pin into contact with a flexible sounding spring inside the belt housing to mechanically produce a subtle audible clicking sound when the stomach muscles are expanded beyond a preset limit for warning the user to retract the stomach muscles to improve posture.

  • Patent number: 4907870
Abstract: Side view mirrors are provided on motor vehicles. They give driver visibility to the rear and side of the vehicle. An area to the rear and side of the vehicle includes a blind area which becomes visible to the driver when the side view mirrors are rotated 3.degree. to 4.degree. beyond their conventional setting through actuation of a manipulatable button adjacent the driver's seat or actuation of the turning lever. Instantaneous initial movement of the side view mirror to cover the blind spot through fast moving mechanism is accompanied by a dwell of approximately two seconds to retain visiblity for a needed intravel after initial manipulation to initiate a turn or to permit opening of the driver's door into the adjacent lane of traffic during parallel parking to give visibility to the driver in the adjacent lane and blind area.

  • Patent number: 4471562
Abstract: A snail protective barrier device. A band is provided of relatively thin foil material. Spaced slits are formed in its edges and flaps or webs are bent out horizontally from the strip of material to be in spaced relation relative to each other. The band with the horizontally extending flaps may be utilized in a straight line position; or in a circular, square or other configuration. Climbing insects, particularly snails, are prevented from passing the barrier by being unable to traverse the horizontal surfaces of the extending flaps or webs, particularly the underside surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4193869
Abstract: A system and method for processing wastewaters, domestic, industrial or otherwise, including producing a substantially sterile and recyclable organic material from the effluent wastewaters, and for producing at the same time a substantially sterile and recyclable organic material from solid matter in the wastewaters. The process system is complete as to separation of solids and liquid and as to the processing of both liquid and solid phases. The liquid phase may be used for agricultural purposes or passed to a unit from which only pure water is dispersed by evaporation and transpiration to the atmosphere while dissolved and nondissolved solid matter is decomposed. The solids separated by the system are dewatered by expressing the water therefrom, the solids then being bagged in loose form or pressed into solid blocks which may be stored on a pallet. This part of the process may be accomplished by rollers, presses, and/or microwave drying.
