The display apparatus including: a signal receiver which receives an image signal including left and right eye images; a signal processor which processes the image signal into a displayable form; a display panel which displays the processed left and right eye image; a polarizer which is provided in a front surface of the display panel, and transmits the left eye image as a first polarized light and transmits the right eye image as a second polarized light; and a controller which controls the signal processor to compensate for color distortion of the first and second polarized lights which pass through the polarizer. With this configuration, the quality of an image that is seen by a user can be improved and color distortion issues can be resolved in a 3D display apparatus.
