  • Publication number: 20070097791
Abstract: A capacitive ultrasonic transducer and method of fabricating the same are disclosed, whereas the capacitive ultrasonic transducer is a stacking of multiple metal layers. The fabrication method of the invention is characterized in that: the structure and cavity of excitation are formed by lithographing and etching the sacrificial layer and other stacking layers, whereas the sacrificial layer and the other stacking layer are made of metal, and moreover, a protective bulk is formed on the capacitive ultrasonic transducer by a means of metal depositing. It is noted that not only the structure of capacitive ultrasonic transducer of the invention has a bulk for protection, which is different to that of a conventional capacitive ultrasonic transducer, but also the method of fabricating the same can do without the steps of electrode formation, high-temperature processing and annealing, which enable the method to have simplified process and thus cost less than that of conventional methods.

  • Publication number: 20040249285
Abstract: A flexible ultrasonic transducer, comprising a plurality of ultrasonic transducer elements. Each of the ultrasonic transducer elements in turn comprises a base, a membrane and a first and a second electrode. The base is made of soft material, having an upper side and a lower side, with a support set on the upper side. The membrane is able to perform vibrations, having an outer side and an inner side, which is laid on the support. The first electrode is placed on the base and the second electrode placed in the membrane, the first and second electrodes being connected with a voltage source. Manufacturing the flexible ultrasonic transducer requires less steps without increasing cost. By having a flexible shape, emission and reception of ultrasonic waves as well as an effective area are enhanced, with less attenuation of ultrasonic waves, resulting in more effective sensing.

  • Patent number: 5733441
Abstract: The present invention is a prewet system for a filter. The present invention includes a power controller. A first container is used for storing iso-propyl alcohol liquid. An air pump is connected to the first container via a liquid pipe. The air pump is utilized for sucking the iso-propyl alcohol from the first container and driving the iso-propyl alcohol liquid to flow in the prewet system. An impurity filter is connected to the air pump via a liquid pipe, which is useful for filtering out impurities of the iso-propyl alcohol liquid. A second container is connected to the impurity filter for holding a filter. Between the filter and the second container is a pressure detector for detecting the liquid pressure inside the pipe. The prewet system provides a better prewet effect than the conventional one.
